In order to understand Barack Obama one must look beyond the official, Congressional-approved Cabinet choices to the truckload of unofficial 'czars,' 'special advisor's,' and 'officers' he has chosen to come to the White House to have direct access to him.

In which Gateway Pundit does the Googling that Obama refuses to do. Although honestly, at this point I think Jones’s hiring is best explained not as a breakdown in vetting but as a goof by Obama to see just how much crap the media will let him get away with. “Hey Rahm — bet you 20 bucks I can get a Truther communist appointed to an environmental oversight position.” Birthers at the town halls … and Truthers in the White House. Which has gotten more press coverage? NEW YORK CITY, NY (Oct. 26, 2004) – An alliance of 100 prominent...

Allow me to bring you back. It was 1991, when the Democrats controlled the Congress and George H.W. Bush, a Republican, occupied the White House. President Bush gave an address at a D.C. junior high school that focused on the lives of young people, including drug use, study habits and a general inattention to matters of national import. And Democrats hated it. Said then-Majority Leader Dick Gephardt at the time: "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students."

One Flew Over the Darwinists' Nest Sean Carroll is one of those open-minded science types who are always generously offering the rest of us lectures on the importance of intellectual freedom and open inquiry--at least when the subject of discussion is buried in the annals of history. When it comes to people debating issues today, however, there are other things which must be taken into consideration. Like whether Carroll agrees with them. He is particularly upset about Bloggingheads.tv running a dialogue between John McWhorter and Intelligent Design advocate Michael Behe, a professional scientist. "Unfortunately," he says, "I won’t be appearing...

Teddy Kennedy, who had been a senator for less than a year, was presiding over the Senate, a thankless clerical job assigned to junior members. The chambers were almost deserted, but a few senators were debating a mind-numbing bill about federal library services. It was nearly time to break for lunch when the Senate’s press liaison...

1 billion shares on the tape as of 9:00 Central on the NYSE and who's responsible for over 1/4 of it? This is outrageous folks. Three zombies, one of which has no equity value and two more that exist only because the government has guaranteed, collectively, half a trillion dollars of what may be worthless assets. Not to mention all the ENRON-STYLE off balance sheet exposure that we have no means to value or come up with a reasonable understanding of. This sort of garbage "support" for market volume, put forth for the explicit purpose of propping up stock market...
