Big Speech: Obama Wants Control Of Health Debate By CHARLES BABINGTON WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will deliver a major prime-time health care address to Congress next week, opening an urgent autumn push to gain control of the debate that has been slipping from his grasp under withering Republican-led attacks. Scheduling of the speech next Wednesday night, just a day after lawmakers return from their August recess, underscores the determination of the White House to confront critics of Obama's overhaul proposals and to buck up supporters who have been thrown on the defensive. Allies have been urging the president to...

While ABC was more than willing to provide President Barack Obama with an infomercial from inside the White House a few months ago, we now learn that ABC (All Barack Channel) and NBC (Nothing but Barack Channel) have refused to run a national ad that highlights critical “holes” in the president’s attempt to take over the health care industry.

The news is out that Jim Bob and Michelle Dugger are having another child, their 19th. Yes you read correctly, 19 children and their oldest son's wife is expecting their first child. Let us all pray that he follows in his parents footsteps, by having as many children and being as prosperous as his parents. I have heard many people ask the question, "Are they keeping up the household without being on the government dole?" The answer to that question would be that they have never received a dime of taxpayer's money. That is not how they operate. In fact...

Today many in the United States are crying out to President Obama and Government (i.e., Washington D.C.) to do more and more to fix our social ills while a rising Tea Party movement is sweeping across the land to counter this aggressive socialistic movement. The notion that Big Government has all our answers and the solutions we need in this very chaotic and unstable world is fairy tale. Our Founding Fathers wisely understood that the less power government possessed the better off we as Americans would be. Our Foundering Fathers fully comprehend that with the abandonment of Judean/ Christian foundations...

. LIBERAL LIES ABOUT NATIONAL HEALTH CARE: THIRD IN A SERIES (COMMEMORATIVE PLATES ON SALE NOW!) by Ann Coulter September 2, 2009, 2009 (9) If you like Medicare, you'll love national health care, which will just extend Medicare's benefits to everyone. Hey -- I have an idea: How about we make everyone in America a multimillionaire by pulling Bernie Madoff out of prison and asking him to invest all our money! Both Medicare and Bernie Madoff's investment portfolio are bankrupt because they operate on a similar financial model known as a "Ponzi scheme." These always seem to run fabulously well...

"Grid girls" are as much a part of international motorsports as high-octane fuel, ear plugs, and fiery crashes. Before each race, grid girls take up positions behind the starting line, holding up the national flag of the team and the vehicle's number. They also, it seems, spend a good deal of time just hanging out and looking hot. Long may they wave.

September 3, 2009 Obama savours his own White House Camelot in photo homage to Kennedy Tim Reid in Washington [Pic in URL] It is a clear homage to perhaps the most iconic White House photograph. Almost 46 years after the world first saw two-year-old John F. Kennedy Jr playing under the Oval Office desk as his father worked, the White House has released a picture of Sasha Obama, 8, hiding behind a sofa as President Obama reads briefing papers at the same desk. According to the White House, Sasha is sneaking up on her father as he nears the end...

The members of the ruling class of the British Isles seem to be committed to demonstrating that they are nothing but hopeless neo-socialists busy sacrificing their green and pleasant land on the altar of nanny-state multiculturalism. It seems that every day there is a report of some new Labor assault on free speech, a fresh disaster in the decaying single-payer health care system, or another craven surrender to domestic jihadism. The latest atrocity is Scotland’s politicians’ ”compassionate release” of Lockerbie mass-murderer Abdulbaset al-Megrahi, a shameful maneuver that managed to combine greed, cowardice and self-righteousness all into one gutless package. I...

The grandson of Joseph Stalin has begun a libel suit against one of Russia's leading liberal newspapers, accusing it of lying in an article that stated the wartime leader had killed Soviet citizens. As the Vladimir Putin, the prime minister, defended Stalin's reputation Poland, Yevgeny Dzhugashvili, the dictator's grandson, began his quest to claim nearly £200,000 from Novaya Gazeta, the Independent reports. "Half a century of lies have been poured over Stalin's reputation and he cannot defend himself from the grave, so this case is essential to put the record straight," Mr Dzhugashvili's lawyer, Leonid Zhura, said.

Conservatives have correctly declared President Obama’s $787 billion “stimulus” a flop. In a January report, White House economists predicted the bill would create (not merely save) 3.3 million jobs. Since then, 2.8 million jobs have been lost, pushing unemployment toward 10 percent. Yet few have explained correctly why the stimulus failed. By blaming the slow pace of stimulus spending (even though it’s ahead of schedule), many conservatives have accepted the premise that government spending stimulates the economy. Their thinking implies that we should have spent much more by now. History proves otherwise. In 1939, after a doubling of federal spending...

It seems that Naomi Wolf is quite upset by what I’ve written yesterday. She has posted a comment at my blog, written to me privately (below), left a message in my office and written to at least one website that linked to my blog. I am answering her here. Dear Naomi: Hello and I hope you are well too. My piece is not a personal attack. Please don’t take it as such. It is a political and intellectual critique of what you wrote.... There are no “terrible inaccuracies” in what I’ve written or in how I’ve conveyed the general tenor...

Talk about a lousy summer vacation. Ever since the health care debate became headline news the Democrats has seen their dominant lead over the GOP shrink. Gallup has a poll out today that says the the once record-sized Democratic Party lead of 17% has shrunk to a meager five points at 45% to 40%. Just before the President took office the gap among Americans calling themselves Democrat vs Republicans was a formidable 52% to 35%. This poll confirms similar results from Gallup, Fox, and CNN all showing that Democratic Party support is falling. Much of this drop in support has...

During the days of Abraham people believed that their lives were governed by powerful spirits gods. So they made models of these spirit gods out of gold and silver – and these gods were given names and the people were fearful of these gods, and made sacrifices to them. They thought that by making animal sacrifices, and in some instances, virgin child sacrifices that these gods would be pleased and bring forth a good harvest. The people that God talked to Abraham about in Genesis 12 however would be different. These people would not have idol gods, or spirits, or...

Slovakia: No Hungarian spoken in public Published: Sept. 2, 2009 at 12:18 AM BRATISLAVA, Slovakia, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Ethnic Hungarians in Slovakia demonstrated Tuesday against a new law allowing only the use of Slovak language in public institutions, Hungarian officials said. Slovakia maintains the law comports with European standards, but Hungarian protesters say it violates international law, the BBC reported. The penalty for the regular public misuse of the Slovak language is a fine of up to $7,000, which is close to the average yearly salary in Slovakia, the news service reported. A meeting between the prime ministers of...

BOSTON — Curt Schilling, the former major league pitcher who won the allegiance of Bostonians by leading the Red Sox to the 2004 World Series, said Wednesday that he has "some interest" in running for the seat held for nearly 50 years by Democratic Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. Schilling, a registered independent and longtime Republican supporter, wrote on his blog that while his family and video gaming company, 38 Studios, are high priorities, "I do have some interest in the possibility." "That being said, to get to there, from where I am today, many, many things would have to align...
