His other occupation doesn’t make him much money — in fact it costs him — but he still can’t give up the hunt for undiscovered wildlife. It all began when Kirk first emigrated from Hong Kong in 1987. As a new resident to Canada, he went in a tour of B.C. He was passing by Sproat Lake on the way to Nanaimo when he...

September 2, 2009 | By Amanda Reinecker Obamacare’s five flaws There is little disagreement among liberals and conservatives that America's current health care system needs serious reform. But the Left's plan is seriously flawed. Heritage Foundation expert Nina Owcharenko dissects "five major faults with the health care bills" being pushed in the House and Senate. 1. The public "option." Both proposals would create a government-run insurance plan which proponents claim would foster honest competition among private insurers. But how can there be fair competition when one of the players -- Washington -- is both writing the rules and playing the...

The victim of garden pervert Paul Darlow – who told a court he had put her off men and sausages for life – has told how she still suffers flashbacks. Denise Woodage saw oddball Darlow pleasuring himself in his back garden in Churchwood Walk, Calcot, and frequently spotted him going about his chores naked – save for a pair of boots. Naked gardener 'puts neighbour off sausages' Darlow faced trial at Reading Crown Court after denying indecent exposure with intent to cause alarm or distress but was convicted last Friday. He was jailed for six weeks. The 54-year-old, who is...

The monster Station Fire burning north of Los Angeles was human-caused, a U.S. Forest Service official said Wednesday. Meanwhile, fire crews prepared for potential setbacks because of returning drier conditions, MSNBC.com reported. Investigators don't know specifically how the Station Fire was started but have enough information to determine it was caused by a person, the Forest Service's deputy incident commander Carlton Joseph said during a news conference. Investigators were determining whether the fire was accidental or arson and identified the point of origin as mile marker 29 on Angeles Crest Highway. Firefighters caught a weather break Tuesday when moister, cooler...

Barack Obama said the Waxman-Markey carbon tax would help create "green energy" jobs in the U.S. He is now using taxpayer dollars to fund jobs in Spain.Barack Obama sold the Waxman-Markey "American Clean Energy and Security Act" to Congress and the American people by saying that investment in so-called "green energy" would create millions of high-wage American manufacturing jobs. We received an E-mail from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (nonpartisan professional organization) that exposed Barack Obama as a blatant prevaricator who is shamelessly using our tax dollars to create jobs not in the United States but in foreign countries. We...

When a hundred men stand together, each of them loses his mind and gets another one. – Friedrich Nietzsche For those of us who work in a corporate environment, it is very clear that we either follow corporate policies or lose our job. At my workplace for example, we are not allowed to display any sort of religious material in or outside our offices. We are also forced to accept our company’s policies in regards to environmentalism or alternative lifestyles. Company policies are not created from the consensus or vote by the employees. Many companies have and are engaged in...

Conservatives are resuming their historically dominant position atop the New York Times and Amazon.com bestsellers lists after a short hiatus that coincided, not coincidentally, with George W. Bush's tenure in the White House. While the mainstream media raved about a new era of leftist intellectual supremacy during the liberal ascendance on the bestsellers lists, the return of conservative books to the tops of those lists seems to be going unnoticed. Amazon, which, unlike the New York Times, ranks books according to the number of actual copies sold, shows Glenn Beck's Common Sense rounding out the top, with Michelle Malkin's Culture...

Members of the House and Senate will return to Washington the evening of Tuesday, September 8th. Over the following several days they will compare constituent feedback on health care reform. There will be thousands of small informal discussions – Members talking to each other on the House and Senate floor during votes, in the hallway, in the gym, over lunch or coffee or drinks. The House and Senate Democratic leaders will convene caucus meetings of all their Members to get more structured input. These leaders will meet separately and together to discuss the feedback they are receiving. Senior White House...

Yesterday NewsReal's Kathy Shaidle blogged about Carl Tomanelli, a retired police officer who was ejected from a Town Hall meeting for asking a question without a ticket: It’s come to this: Shea-Porter — who first made a name for herself after being expelled for disrupting a 2005 George W. Bush event, along with other protesters who were wearing makeshift Nazi uniforms — is now blithely kicking retired New York City police officers out of her public meetings for — wait for it — “asking a question without a ticket.”Yes, really: only constituents who’d won a sort of free speech “lottery”...

Here is audio of Glenn Beck on radio today where he called what President Obama is doing in planning to address school children across America next week, "indoctrination." He urged Americans to "stand guard." "Your Republic is under attack." Obama is slated to speak to children in a live address to schools next Tuesday, September 8. . . . . (Listen to Audio)

Someone made an interesting point about "Shevel-ready" in Massachusetts: "In Massachusetts, "Shovel-ready" may refer to dead motorists" (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2330631/posts?page=1). Could it be that Shovel-Ready means burying the dead from swine flu? Just a morbid thought because we have not seen ANY of the so called Shovel-Ready projects Obama and Biden boasted about.

One of the key components of the health care bill that has started the most controversy is the idea of a public option. Liberals have been pushing for universal health care for decades, obviously with no success. Americans are becoming increasingly wary of the Democrats and their attempts to push their costly and overly-ambitious agenda. Despite public anger and polling numbers, liberal Democrats are bound and determined to pass the $1 trillion health care bill, only under their conditions. However, there are Democrats in Congress that aren't so anxious to rush into another costly entitlement. Senate Majority whip Dick Durbin...

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Levi Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin's grandchild, said the former Republican vice presidential candidate wanted to adopt his child so that people wouldn't know her 17-year-old daughter was pregnant. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Johnston said Palin had a plan to deal with Bristol's pregnancy. "Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging — she wouldn't give it up. She would say, 'So, are you gonna let me adopt him?' We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good,...

Just 4 days prior to the massive citizen march on Washington on September 12 to protest government-run healthcare, high taxes, and runaway spending, Barack Obama will address all of the nation's school children. I would strongly encourage all parents to keep their children home from school on that day as a means of protest. Why would a President who is known for employing innovative means for propaganda set up a national address to school children just days prior to a citizen march that could garner over a million protesters?

Fox is reporting that Massachusetts is speeding a law through the legislature that will allow the state to fine and/or imprison anyone who refuses to take any public health measures (including flu shots) the state decides you must take. Gov. Deval "Mini Me" Patrick can't wait to sign it. Anyway, a guest on Fox named Doug Zelin was wild-eyed, insisting that no one has the right to oppose this latest naked power grab by the Libs. When Cavuto asked him why people had a duty to obey such fascists, Zelin replied, "That's why we put them in office! To be...

President Obama intends to address schoolchildren across the nation next week about the importance of taking responsibility for success in their studies. But in these polarized times, the first-ever talk has quickly prompted accusations that the White House is using taxpayer money to politically indoctrinate children. Obama will travel to Wakefield High School in Arlington, Va. on Sept. 8 and deliver an address that will be aired on C-Span and the White House web site, whitehouse.gov. The White House says the message is intended to stimulate a discussion about persisting and succeeding in school. In a recent letter to school...
