Over the last seven years of combat operations in the War on Terrorism, more than a million brave servicemen and women have faithfully served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Nearly 5,000 have died; thousands of others bear the scars of war. All of them, regardless of their individual experience or contribution, were exposed to some level of risk. For those soldiers and Marines on the front lines, many of whom carried the brunt of the security responsibility in Iraq or continue to lead the fight in Afghanistan, dangerous confrontations with the enemy are a daily occurrence. While many have been recognized...

Muslim suicides surpassed by Protestant and Jewish suicides Protestants and Jews offer radical Muslims lessons of authentic suicide By Julio SeveroA suicide-bomber, who kills many people by exploding cars in an effort to draw attention, is also called a terrorist suicide. Radical Islam holds the monopoly of that strange suicide that, instead of murdering and destroying exclusively the author and other similar terrorists, kills the innocent.Muslim terrorists prefer to target Jews and “Christians”. Even when a bomb blows up and kills some Muslims, the goal is eventually to hit the US and Israel. But if they were authentic suicides, they...

SAN FRANCISCO — A federal appeals court on Tuesday reversed the 2001 murder conviction of a man serving a life prison term for killing the daughter of former Oakland Raiders Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff. In a 43-page ruling, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that San Mateo County prosecutors improperly excluded two African-American jurors for racially motivated reasons, tainting the trial of Mohammed Ali. Ali was convicted of first-degree murder in the February 1999 slaying of his girlfriend, Tracey Biletnikoff, in the office of a San Mateo drug treatment center. Ali always admitted killing Biletnikoff at the...

I know it seems like a dumb question but with his kids in the spotlight so much lately I wonder where they are being educated. I did a search here for the topic but nothing came up. He traveled so much I wonder if they went with him and he hired tutors or if they stayed at home and people were in charge of taking them to school. Maybe home schooled? I wonder how he handled their education. I thought someone here may have read something about this.

WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives paused for a moment of silence Friday to mark entertainer Michael Jackson's death. Lawmakers briefly interrupted a debate on a global warming bill to stand in silence and honor the "King of Pop." Rep. Diane Watson of California rose during the debate to suggest the House "pay tribute to the culture that he has left behind, his legacy." Watson said the lawmakers send their condolences to Jackson's family, friends and his fans worldwide. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. of Illinois said the singer changed the world and he wants to "thank God for letting all...

Tegucigalpa, Honduras Alejandro Alvarez is no fan of ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya. The Internet consultant joined a group of young business leaders, lawyers, and analysts that formed weeks ago to stop Mr. Zelaya from operating outside the constitutional framework. The group, called Generation for Change, formed as self-appointed guardians of the rule of law. They were so angry at the prospect of Zelaya scrapping term limits that they staged an outrageous protest: four men – wearing nothing but underwear, boots, large cowboy hats, and mustaches - marched on the presidential palace in a clear mockery of their president. But...

WASHINGTON -- The nation's lawyers and law enforcement leaders gave Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor ringing endorsements Tuesday, even as Republicans tried to rally opposition. With Sotomayor's Senate confirmation hearing less than a week away, the American Bar Association announced that the 54-year-old appellate judge is "well qualified" to serve on the nation's highest court. The unanimous recommendation is the association's highest grade for a potential judge. "The only way she can get derailed is if she performs poorly next week," acknowledged Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a Senate Judiciary Committee member. He said he was still undecided, but added, "I...

WASHINGTON (CNN) – National Democrats wasted no time in accusing Sarah Palin of abandoning her state after the Alaska governor revealed Friday that she was resigning from office. Five days later and 4,600 miles away, the New Hampshire Democratic Party chairman is leveling the same charge against New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, who announced Tuesday she would soon leave office to explore a Senate bid in 2010.

President Barack Obama's Orwellian rhetoric has become absolutely pathological. And it's become so blatant that you can almost guarantee that the truth is the exact opposite of what he says. To wit: The president insisted he had no intention of taking over Chrysler and General Motors. He did. The president calls "cap-and-trade" environmental legislation a "market-based" approach, based on "sound science." It is not. The president claims his health care reform plan is not "socialized medicine." It is. He claims it won't harm private insurance. It will. He claims service won't be rationed. But to control costs as he proposes,...

Obama’s First Order: Don’t Hurt the Heroin byPaul L. Williams, Ph.D.thelastcrusade.org Obama's agenda; Narco-Nation Building Hey, guys, don’t pick the poppies. That’s the order from the Obama Administration to the 4,000 Marines presently engaged in Operation Khanjar or “Strike of the Sword,” an invasion of the Taliban infested Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan. The Marines of Bravo’s Company 1st Platoon sleep beside groves of poppies Troops of the 2nd Platoon walk through the fields on strict orders not to swat the heavy opium bulbs. The Afghan farmers and laborers, who are engaged in scraping the resin from the bulbs, smile...

Take the United Kingdom, which is often praised for spending as little as half as much per capita on health care as the U.S. Credit for this cost containment goes in large part to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). Americans should understand how NICE works because under ObamaCare it will eventually be coming to a hospital near you. NICE has established the principle that the only way to control health-care costs is for this panel of medical high priests to dictate limits on certain kinds of care to certain classes of patients. For example: 1. In...

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton plans to meet with deposed Honduran President Manuel Zelaya this week as the Obama administration weighs responses to his ouster. The talks planned for Tuesday would be the administration's highest-level contact with Zelaya since he was overthrown in a coup eight days ago, coming two days after his failed attempt to return to Honduras deepened the country's political crisis. Zelaya met with two senior U.S. diplomats in Washington on Sunday after the Organization of American States suspended Honduras for its role in the coup and before the deposed president tried to return to Honduras...

It has been 400 years since English explorer Henry Hudson mapped the northeast coast of North America, leaving a wake of rivers and towns named in his honor, yet what happened to the famed explorer remains a mystery. Hudson was never heard from again after a mutiny by his crew during a later voyage through northern Canada. That he died in the area in 1611 is a certainty, and he may have even been killed in cold blood, according to new research.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Tuesday slammed the door on the idea of a second economic stimulus plan, even as President Obama suggested he's leaving the option on the table. The Nevada senator said Americans are only just beginning to realize the benefits of the Obama administration's first stimulus bill, which passed in mid-February, and he stressed that only 10 percent of the $787 billion package has made it to the states. "A little less than 90 percent still needs to be put out to the American people, and we're in the process of doing that. It's going to...
