“Doctor suspended over scan errors”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “A doctor who wrongly gave the all-clear to 20 breast cancer patients has been suspended from practising for a year.
Consultant radiologist Amjad Husien was suspended by hospital bosses after staff questioned his work in 2005.
A total of 176 women had to be recalled and retested after the mistakes were identified, and one of them later died.
A General Medical Council (GMC) panel ruled he “repeatedly failed to provide an acceptable level of care to patients” at Trafford General Hospital.
He placed patients at risk and showed serious and persistent failures to meet required medical standards, the panel added.”

Report: Non-Muslims Deserve to Be Punished
Tuesday, April 01, 2008
A report posted on Islam Watch, a site run by Muslims who oppose intolerant teachings and hatred for unbelievers, exposes a prominent Islamic cleric and lawyer who support extreme punishment for non-Muslims including killing and rape.
A question-and-answer session with Imam Abdul Makin in an East London mosque asks why Allah would tell Muslims to kill and rape innocent non-Muslims, including their wives and daughters, according to Islam Watch.
“Because non-Muslims are never innocent, they are guilty of denying Allah and his prophet,” the Imam says, according to the report. “If you don’t believe me, here is the legal authority, the top Muslim lawyer of Britain.”
The lawyer, Anjem Choudary, backs up the Imam’s position, saying that all Muslims are innocent.
“You are innocent if you are a Muslim,” Choudary tells the BBC. “Then you are innocent in the eyes of God. If you are not a Muslim, then you are guilty of not believing in God.”
Choudary said he would not condemn a Muslim for any action.
“As a Muslim, I must support my Muslim brothers and sisters,” Choudary said. “I must have hatred to everything that is not Muslim.”
Thanks for the heads up drymans wife.

“Passenger Questioned At Orlando Airport”
POSTED: 4:01 pm EDT April 1, 2008
UPDATED: 4:06 pm EDT April 1, 2008
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “A Jamaican man who was planning to board an Air Jamaica flight at Orlando International Airport on Tuesday was detained and questioned by federal agents, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
The man, who has not been identified, was found by security to have with him components for pipe bombs and other explosive materials in his luggage, law enforcement officials told the newspaper.
The suspect was scheduled to fly on Air Jamaica Flight 80 to Montego Bay at 2:55 p.m.”
One thing that can be said by Choudary; he’s very consistent in his viewpoint and attitude. No one has to guess as to what he is thinking.
The question is, “Who’s listening to him?”

MS-13 Gang Member Sentenced to 27 Years in Prison on Racketeering Charges
WASHINGTON - A member of La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for his participation in a racketeering enterprise, Assistant Attorney General Alice S. Fisher of the Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Edward M. Yarbrough for the Middle District of Tennessee announced today.
Walter Hernandez, a.k.a. Spanky, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Judge Todd J. Campbell of the Middle District of Tennessee in Nashville. Judge Campbell also ordered Hernandez to serve five years of supervised release upon his release from prison.
At his plea hearing on January 29, 2008, Hernandez admitted that he and others involved in the MS-13 gang conspired to participate in a pattern of racketeering activity in the Nashville metropolitan area, which included murder and attempted murder. In addition, Hernandez admitted that on January 20, 2006, he and another gang member were involved a dispute with two men from a rival gang, which resulted in Hernandez shooting one of the men. The victim later died from his injuries.
Hernandez is the fourth defendant to be sentenced on Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) charges stemming from an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Nashville on Jan. 10, 2007. That indictment charged 14 members of MS-13 with conspiring to participate in the affairs of a racketeering enterprise and related charges including murder, attempted murder, assault, weapons charges, and obstruction of justice. Defendant Jose Alfaro, a.k.a Liche, was sentenced on Dec. 10, 2007, to 20 years in prison and three years supervised release upon his release from prison. Defendant Henry Garaballo Vasquez, a.k.a Cuero was sentenced on December 4, 2007 to 20 years in prison and three years of supervised release. Defendant Geovanni Pena, a.k.a Rata was sentenced on Nov. 20, 2007, to 135 months in prison and three years supervised release upon his release from prison. Trial for the remaining defendants is currently scheduled for Aug. 5, 2008.
The MS-13 street gang is a violent international criminal organization. The purpose of the racketeering enterprise was to preserve and protect the power, territory and profits of the MS-13 enterprise through violent assault, murder, threats of violence and intimidation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jimmie Lynn Ramsaur of the Middle District of Tennessee and Trial Attorneys David Jaffe and John Han of the Criminal Divisions Gang Squad. The case was investigated by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Departments Gang Suppression Unit; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the Davidson County District Attorney Generals Office; the U.S. Attorneys Office in the Middle District of Tennessee and the Criminal Divisions Gang Squad.

Abdullahu Sentenced to 20 Months in Prison for Supplying
Guns and Ammunition to Illegal Aliens
(More)
2
CAMDEN, N.J. Agron Abdullahu was sentenced to 20 months in federal prison today for conspiring to provide firearms and ammunition to illegal aliens who allegedly plotted to kill U.S. soldiers at various installations, including the Fort Dix Army base in New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie announced.
U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler also ordered Abdullahu, 25, of Buena Vista Township in Atlantic County, N.J., to serve three years of supervised release upon the completion of his prison term. Judge Kugler continued the defendants detention and remanded him to the custody of the U.S. Marshal to begin serving his prison sentence.
Abdullahu, who is a U.S. legal permanent resident, has been held in federal custody since his arrested on May 7, 2007, along with five others three of them brothers who were charged in an alleged plot to kill as many soldiers as possible. At that time, Abdullahu was charged with aiding and abetting the illegal possession of firearms by illegal aliens.
Abdullahu was never accused of joining the plot to kill U.S. military personnel, as Kugler also noted at sentencing.
On Oct. 31, 2007, Abdullahu pleaded guilty to a one-count Superseding Information which charged him with conspiracy to possess firearms and ammunition by illegal aliens.
At his plea hearing, Abdullahu admitted that from Jan. 3, 2006, to May 7, 2007, he and Serdar Tatar, 25, of Philadelphia, provided firearms to brothers Eljvir Duka, 24, Dritan Duka, 29, and Shain Duka, 27, who Abdullahu knew were illegal aliens. (All of the Duka brothers are from Cherry Hill, N.J.)
The trial for the Dukas, Tatar and Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer, 22, of Cherry Hill, on the five-count Superseding Indictment, is scheduled before Judge Kugler on Sept. 29, 2008.
In determining the actual sentence, Judge Kugler consulted the advisory U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide appropriate sentencing ranges that take into account the severity and characteristics of the offense, the defendant’s criminal history, if any, and other factors. The judge, however, is not bound by those guidelines in determining a sentence. In this case, Judge Kugler determined the appropriate sentence to be 20 months; four months above the top of the advisory guideline range.
Parole has been abolished in the federal system. Defendants who are given custodial terms must serve nearly all that time.
Christie credited Special Agents of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division and the FBI South Jersey Joint Terrorism Task Force, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Janice K. Fedarck, in Philadelphia, for investigation of the case.
Christie and Fedarck also thanked investigators with member agencies of the FBI South Jersey JTTF, which is comprised of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, N.J. State Police, the Delaware River Port Authority Police, and the Philadelphia Division of ICE.
The government is represented by Deputy U.S. Attorney William E Fitzpatrick and Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Hammer, Jr.

Troops Kill Suspected Terrorists, Capture Others, Seize Weapons
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, April 1, 2008 Coalition and Iraqi forces killed four suspected terrorists, detained 29 others, and seized or destroyed dozens of weapons in Iraq over the past three days, military officials said.
During an operation today in Mosul, coalition ground forces captured an alleged close associate of local senior al Qaeda in Iraq leaders. In another mission nearby, information gleaned from an operation in December led troops to a wanted individual, whom forces detained along with four other suspects.
In two other operations this morning around Baghdad, coalition forces captured an alleged car-bomb-cell leader, the alleged leader of al Qaeda in Iraq in Baghdads South Karkh neighborhood and two other suspects, military officials said.
The Iraqi people are turning against al Qaeda and are supporting the fight against terrorism, said Army Maj. Winfield Danielson, a Multinational Force Iraq spokesman. Iraqi and coalition forces continue to target the al Qaeda in Iraq networks that are responsible for indiscriminate violence against innocent civilians.
In the New Baghdad neighborhood of the Iraqi capital yesterday, Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers engaged a criminal rocket-propelled grenade team in an afternoon operation. Military officials reported that the soldiers, from 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, engaged the criminals with small-arms fire, killing one. Troops detained three others and seized seven assault rifles.
During operations elsewhere in Iraq yesterday:
— The 15th Iraqi Army Brigade detained 12 enemy personnel during an operation in Hafriyah, southeast of Kirkuk. In addition, the troops discovered a cache containing hundreds of mortar rounds of varying size, rockets, seven propane tanks, six blocks of C-4 explosive material, 25 250-pound bombs, five 130 mm projectiles, and numerous small arms and bomb-making materials.
— Troops detained three individuals in Musayyib who are believed to be connected to a March 23 homemade-bomb attack on coalition forces in the Abu Jassim area. Coalition troops are holding the suspects for questioning.
— Coalition forces targeted a suspected terrorist allegedly involved in the al Qaeda in Iraq propaganda and smuggling networks. The wanted man turned himself over to ground forces upon their arrival, military officials said.
— An Iraqi citizen tipped off Multinational Division North soldiers to the location of a weapons cache in Tamim province, northeast of Kirkuk. Troops safely destroyed the cache, which contained more than 100 mortar rounds.
In earlier operations, Multinational Division North soldiers killed three enemy personnel March 30 after locating a weapons cache and an al Qaeda in Iraq bunker in Bojima, near Baqouba.
During a joint weapons-clearing operation with Iraqi soldiers, the combined force began receiving small-arms fire. A coalition air weapons team spotted the armed personnel fleeing from the contact location and engaged the enemies, killing three and wounding one other.
Soldiers from the Iraqi army’s 5th Division and Multinational Division North soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Divisions 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team from Fort Lewis, Wash., destroyed a heavy fortified bunker, two 82 mm mortar base plates, a 60 mm mortar base plate, and a 60 mm mortar tripod. They also destroyed two propane tanks and a fire extinguisher that was suspected of containing homemade explosives.
Destroying the bunker will further degrade al Qaeda in Iraq’s ability to conduct offensive and supply operations, said Army 1st Lt. Colin Lebeau, a 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, assistant intelligence officer.
In the Abu Harab village of Diyala province March 30, the local Sons of Iraq citizen security group prevented the kidnapping of two women and four children. The Sons of Iraq fought off four vehicles carrying al Qaeda in Iraq members who had kidnapped the six people. The local resistance force recovered all the would-be kidnapping victims.
The quick reaction of these local heroes, the village’s Sons of Iraq, is yet another example of the strength and determination of Iraqis to fight for the peace they deserve, said Army Maj. Dan Meyers, a Multinational Division North spokesman.
During operations March 30, combined forces seized:
— A cache in Qarghouli village, near Patrol Base Yusifyah, containing Katusha rockets, improvised explosive devices, mortar and artillery rounds of various sizes, 40 pounds of unknown bulk explosives, anti-aircraft rounds, gas tanks, and several hundred small-arms rounds and accessories.
— Stockpiles of weapons in Hashmiyah that included 23 anti-tank mines, some 40 pounds of explosives, three crates of pellet-shaped explosives, more than a dozen mortars of varying size, ammunition, fuses and projectile housings, and bomb-making materials.
— A cache containing propellant charges, mortar rounds, rifle grenades, flares and bags of TNT in Abu Osage, northwest of Lutifiyah.
