We welcome back to the area Senator Hillary Clinton (D., N.Y.), who has been spending so much time here in Little Rock lately that she's practically joined the church choir! "I'm here spending time at my husband's library," she told the Lamp when we caught up with her after a Sunday camp meeting, "and of course, I always take time to worship God in as evangelical a way as is feasible, given time and location constraints. As you know, I consider myself an evangelical Christian, really a Christian conservative, if you want to know the truth, so it's nice to be 'home' again in the South, which I really consider my quote-unquote home even though I live in New York most of the time. Well, Washington, D.C., most of the time, actually, but if I'm not there I'm in New York, of course, but always thinking about being here, in the South, my spiritual home, where I shared so many wonderful evangelical . . . moments and . . . events. Can you read that back to me?" The "Light the Lamp!" staff would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Christ loves all of us equally, and that God's house is open to all, even to senators from New York, so whoever is muttering stuff and saying mean things while pretending to cough can just quit it right now.

What in the world is an "evangelical moment"? Is it that one moment during the year that Hillary thinks like an evangelical? What is an "evangelical event"? Is it the one or two times during the year that Hillary acts like an evangelical Christian, like when she is pretending to be a Christian while campaigning (as she is doing in this instance)? It is clear to me that Hillary does not even know what the term "evangelical" means. What a pretender!! The re-making of Hillary as a Dem centrist, like husband BJ, for the 2008 race, has officially begun.

Hilary's not my idol. In fact, I know very little about her. Now, is there any redistribution of income likely to continue under the present administration, or is all taxation eventually going to go the way of the dodo?
I would love to know how many times she or BJ have gone to church since they have been out of office, other that for campaign events. She was smart when she added the weasel words, "given time and location constraints". She and BJ loved to be seen going out of church while they were in the WhiteHouse. BJ would flash that big Bible for the cameras and then go off to "minister" to Monica. When Libs complain about hypocrites in the church, does it ever occur to them that their favorite politicians are the biggest hypocrites of all?! Sadly, probably not.
