Allow a million or so legal immigrants per year, and another million or so illegal immigrants, and over a couple of decades the demographic shifts are undeniable.
They will never allow the citizenry to influence immigration policy. They will never even allow the citizens to know what the true policy is.
The notion that immigration policy should serve - first foremost and only - the interests of citizens, would be laughable in the eyes of establishment politicians and bureaucrats.
But immigration policy in fact should serve the interests of citizens. The kinds of immigrants sought or allowed, the countries of origins, the numbers per year allowed to enter and take up residence among us.
“Someone wrote a book about illegal immigration, but she favored Romney!” Waah.
Definitely a contradiction. She continues to write well, but she backed Chris Christie as well as Mitt Romney. In the old days, she used to be a good friend of Free Republic. She’s still very bright and a fine writer, but for whatever reason she has been flip-flopping for quite a while now.

Most of us already know about Ann's mistakes. But what is new here is a book that I would welcome, that supposedly covers the very important topic of the left planning to turn our country into a stinking third world hell hole.
