Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a truly Orwellian society where there is absolutely no freedom of speech, absolutely no freedom of religion and absolutely no freedom of the press? You may think that the rules that you are currently living under are bad, but the country that I am about to discuss exercises total control over the population. In this nation, you can only choose a haircut off a pre-approved list, and smiling on the wrong day can literally get you sent to a prison camp. Unfortunately, once you are sent to a...

Park, 29, was once celebrated in the mainstream press... Outlets like The New York Times and The Daily Beast ran breathless articles, and Park quickly became a fixture in elite, mostly liberal circles. She attended the Met Gala. For four years, Park quietly pursued a degree in human rights studies, attending the university’s campus, a shaded neoclassical oasis in uptown Manhattan. But after graduating in 2020, she returned to the...

Leftist students at Syracuse University recently voiced opposition to an event featuring Yeonmi Park, a North Korean defector. Park, who delivered her speech on Apr. 5, “has criticized concepts like political correctness, trigger warnings and ‘woke culture’ in her career,” according to the student newspaper, The Daily Orange.

One of several hundred North Korean defectors settled in the United States, Park, 27, transferred to Columbia University from a South Korean university in 2016 and was deeply disturbed by what she found. "I expected that I was paying this fortune, all this time and energy, to learn...
