Who was it that said, “Socialism is Communism sold by the glass”?
Yep.
Socialism and Communism are really the same thing. Their goals are the same. The only real difference is Communist believe revolution/violence is required. Socialism believes they can hijack democratic processes to implement it.
They are basically the same. Both systems have a powerful central authority that determines how the resources (that are forcefully taken from the people who have basically no rights) are distributed to the masses.
I was a local “player” in YAF in the very early days—during the Vietnam War riots of the left.
Crazy times.

The ONLY difference between socialism and communism is the commies have a monopoly on the use of force (they have ALL the guns and citizens NONE).

Communism is just the more advanced stage of the same disease.
They’re the same thing.
The only difference is that the socialist shoots you in the back whereas the communist shoots you in the face.
And it is a fantasy world where you don’t need a gov’t. You know the mafia would gladly fill that space.
Seems that we have a growing number of believers in our country. Shoplifters, porch-package thieves, muggers, mail-thieves, etc. They take from others who own the items, because of a belief that all goods should be shared. Except they forcibly take the goods. These thieves will be the goons supporting a socialist takeover. For the good of the republic, thieves must be severely punished to stop socialism/communism.
communism is simply socialism with a gun pointed at your head if you oppose.
So Socialism becomes communism when people attempt to get rid of it, and they are forced to implement it at gunpoint.
In place of the old bourgeois society, with its classes and class antagonisms, we shall have an association, in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all.No details whatsoever, but this is supposed to occur once the state “withers away” somehow, without even considering that human nature means that those who attain power have no intention of losing it.

It’s a mystery to me how such pie-in-the-sky bullflop got a foothold in academia, let alone came to global prominence.
The desire for a perfected philosophy is what causes liberals to keep moving left until they get communism.
