In yet another of the year’s intellectually embarrassing events, a book called A Dead White: An Argument Against White Paint has won a National Book Award for nonfiction. “White paint,” argues authoress and Columbia University Professor Wendy Walters, is too pure and too clean. And that, of course, means it is racist and white supremacist. The screed reflects many of the winners of this year’s award, all which seem to be a cri du coeur about the white Christian man’s oppression of everyone around him. A backlash has forced the disgraced, far-left BBC to remove an article that declared “bare nails” racist. That’s “bare nails,” as in fingernails, as in women choosing to not have their fingernails colored with nail polish. That’s now considered racist, y’all. Why? Because when the market for racism is as starved as it is for actual racism, the market is filled with crap like this… “Nail art’s historical and creative roots are linked back to black, Latino, and Asian communities and the suggestion that bare nails are now a sign of high status could stigmatise bold manicures,” wrote the BCC....
