Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience in Berlin, Germany, on Tuesday the Trump administration “has thrown in its lot with the autocrats.” “Autocracy is on the march,” Clinton said, apparently at the World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech and Humankind. “And we now have a government in the United States that has thrown in its lot with the autocrats, which has made a choice to support those who wage war, not peace, who have given enormous power to the men who control the information flow in our world, who have all pledged allegiance to the...

In some branches of the military, the shortage of personnel has become even more dire than the deficit in arms and ammunition. One of Zelensky’s close aides tells me that even if the U.S. and its allies come through with all the weapons they have pledged, “we don’t have the men to use them.” Since the start of the invasion, Ukraine has refused to release official counts of dead and wounded. But according to U.S. and European estimates, the toll has long surpassed 100,000 on each side of the war. It has eroded the ranks of Ukraine’s armed forces so...

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe has been hospitalized following a horse-riding accident over the Christmas holidays in Africa that left him with seven broken ribs and fluid around his lungs, a spokesman said Monday. Spokesman Brian Coy said doctors had expected the weeks-old injury to heal on its own, but after identifying increased fluid around the governor’s lungs, they admitted him around noon Monday for a procedure. McAuliffe (D), who attended a Martin Luther King Jr. event in Norfolk on Monday morning and was interviewed by local media there, was admitted hours later to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond....

The footage of the young men thrown off a building in Alexandria’s Sidi Jaber has been widely circulated. One of the young men was killed; he was identified as Hamada Badr and activists say he was celebrating Mursi’s ouster...

Something has been bugging me about the 26th district NY election. Could this be a trial? Democrats testing the waters? Jack Davis is wealthy and paid for his own campaign. He's also a democrat, who lied about being backed by the tea party. He supported acorn from my understanding. I saw a video of someone trying to interview him and someone hit the camera man. Davis was laughing maniacally, which really creeped me out. My first thought was, this is how he helped the democrat party. Because there are limits to giving to political parties, could this have been how...

Gun-sights, cartridges and coded plans found on 'Marmara.' Firearms may have been thrown overboard by passengers of the Mavi Marmara, Israel Radio reported Friday, citing IDF sources. According to the report, gun-sights and rifle cartridges not fitting IDF weapons were discovered upon inspection of the ship, leading defense officials to believe that there may have been weapons on board when the ship set out from Turkey aside from the knifes, rocks and slingshots found in the search. Coded messages apparently alluding to scenarios of soldier-kidnapping and soldier fatalities were also found on board the ship.

BAGHDAD – Many Iraqis were surprised when an Iraqi reporter hurled his shoes at President George W. Bush during a press conference with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Sunday. While some Iraqis were shocked, others said the shoe-throwing was an act of valor. But in general, many Iraqis believe that the insult directed towards Bush has really reflected badly on them – particularly because of their long history of traditions and customs that focus on respecting the guest – even if that guest is considered an "enemy."

Antarctica hasn't warmed as much over the last century as climate models had originally predicted, a new study finds. Climate change's effects on Antarctica are of particular interest because of the substantial amount of water locked up in its ice sheets. Should that water begin to melt, sea levels around the globe could rise and inundate low-lying coastal areas. The new study, detailed in the April 5 issue of the journal Geophysical Research Letters, marks the first time that researchers have been able to give a progress report on Antarctic climate model projections by comparing climate records to model simulations...

HONOLULU - The man in hospital scrubs threw the toddler like a doll from a pedestrian overpass to the freeway humming with traffic. The 2 1/2-year-old boy fell 30 feet to the asphalt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The horrifying incident Thursday on the highway cutting through the heart of the city shocked Honolulu residents, causing panicked parents to phone day care centers to check on their children. Police arrested a 23-year-old man they say occasionally baby-sat the child after witnesses saw him throwing something, followed him and called authorities. Kraig Hengst told The Honolulu Advertiser he was...

Town N Country, Florida – A woman is in stable condition after being ejected through the sunroof of her SUV during an accident. Paramedics initially tried to fly Matthews to Tampa General Hospital, but her weight, estimated at 600 pounds, made it impossible. Emergency crews were able to transport her to St. Joseph’s Hospital,...

Phillip Edgar Smith agreed to pay $915 in restitution for damage caused to a backdrop screen that was hit by one of the pies, said deputy Pima County Attorney Noah Van Amburg. Judge Paul Simon gave Smith a $250 fine, but told him that if he pays the restitution by Dec. 5 he will suspend the fine, Van Amburg said. According to police, Smith and William Zachary Wolff, both 25, threw the tofu cream pies at Coulter...
