For years, Bryant Park Grill & Cafe in Midtown Manhattan has been one of the country’s top-grossing restaurants, the star property in Ark Restaurants’ portfolio of 20 restaurants across the United States. But what propelled it to the top has vanished. The tourists are gone, the office towers surrounding it are largely empty and the restaurant’s 1,000-seat dining room is closed. Instead, dinner is cooked and served on its patio, and the scaled-down restaurant brings in about $12,000 a day — an 85 percent plunge in revenue, its chief executive said. Five months into the pandemic, the drastic turn of...

In the heart of Manhattan, national chains including J.C. Penney, Kate Spade, Subway and Le Pain Quotidien have shuttered branches for good. Many other large brands, like Victoria’s Secret and the Gap, have kept their high-profile locations closed in Manhattan, while reopening in other states. Michael Weinstein, the chief executive of Ark Restaurants, said he will never open another restaurant in New York. Of Ark Restaurants’ five Manhattan restaurants, only two have reopened, while its properties in Florida — where the virus is far worse — have expanded outdoor seating with tents and tables into their parking lots, serving almost...

Someone needs to remind all these mega-corporations that Pride month ended months ago… or did it? Based on the amount of alphabet soup propaganda finding its way into the mainstream nearly every other major ad these days, one would think that Pride has become a 24/7 holiday. Not to be outdone by Amazon’s lesbian kiss, or Renault’s lesbian make-out session, or Sprite’s LGBTQIA+ ad, T.G.I. Fridays decided to get in on the action with an ad featuring a gay kiss. YouTube outlet SN posted up the ad, featuring a couple of couples kissing, one of which involves two men locking...

Garland, Texas~ Nicole Queen went with her friends for a casual lunch at TGIFriday’s and states that they were given a cold reception by their server, who appeared very put off when asked to leave the bacon off of the cobb salad that was ordered by Queen. She suggested to her friends that they be “extra nice” to their server, under the assumption that he was uncomfortable with them being Muslim. Queen recalls that by the end of their meal, the original server had been replaced and their new server offered her a free to go refill of her iced...

T.G.I. Friday's says a severed snake head found in a dish of broccoli at one of its upstate New York restaurants was apparently planted in the meal. Company spokeswoman Amy Freshwater said Friday independent laboratory tests confirmed the snake head wasn't cooked, but was added to cooked broccoli at its Clifton Park restaurant. The Carrollton, Texas, company has asked state police to investigate. Diner Jack Pendleton of Ballston Lake says he found the snake head on Sunday. Freshwater says the company doesn't know who put the head in the meal. Pendleton says he didn't.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - For the past year, many of the nation's chain restaurants have trumpeted their efforts to give consumers helpful details about the food they serve - from calories to carbs. An unscientific spot check of some of the most popular suggests they do indeed offer a lot of information - from Ruby Tuesday's 1,164-calorie Cuban panini to Subway's 210-calorie Ham Deli sandwich. The push to tell what those menu items will cost your waistline might be more than just helpfulness. The Food and Drug Administration and members of Congress have been considering whether to require such information...

I had to share this with my fellow Freepers. I just got in the door from an evening out with my lady...and our evening ended up with a late meal at the local TGI Friday's in Melbourne,Florida. Who cares, right? Well about 45 mins into my meal I took a look around the establishment and noticed something really out of place. I thought to myself "every store I have been in tonight has had some sort of holiday decorations or tree...what gives?". What gives indeed. When I excused myself to go to the restroom I saw a flyer that was stapled...
