After last year marked the first Super Bowl without a Budweiser ad in 37 years, the iconic beer brand is returning with a new commercial directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao and featuring its staple Clydesdale horse. The 1-minute long commercial doesn't have any dialogue, yet it tells the emotional story about a Clydesdale that is seriously injured while jumping over a barbed-wire fence. Viewers are led to believe that the horse may never walk again, only for the Clydesdale to come back galloping in full stride as it's chased by a canine friend. "In the home of the brave, down...

<p>Jeff Bezos pulled the plug on a $20 million Super Bowl ad for his spaceflight company, Blue Origin, after it was revealed his mistress had helped shoot footage for the commercial, sources told Page Six.</p>
<p>Instead, the Amazon owner had a last-minute commercial created for his Washington Post, with some all-star narration by Tom Hanks.</p>

Video at link. The Washington Post sponsored an ad during the Super Bowl that may have been the most pretentious, the most exaggerated paean to the religion of journalism ever created. They call it "Democracy dies in darkness" and it features a grand, sweeping musical score and actor Tom Hanks seriously intoning the importance, the necessity, and the need to worship journalism. When we go off to war. When we exercise our rights. When we soar to our greatest heights. When we mourn and pray. When our neighbors are at risk. When our nation is threatened. There’s someone to gather...

Many of the Super Bowl ads seemed to be sporting an anti-President Trump theme. The Budweiser ad, the 84 Lumber ad, the It's A 10 (hair-product company, not the formidable ground attack aircraft) ad, the Coca-Cola ad, for examples. In the Trumpian states, the best ad was probably the Hyundai ad. A Youtube of it is linked above. An ad from a major corporation from a country that would not exist, except for the U.S. military... Construction company 84 Lumber seems to be deliberately looking to provoke controversy with its Super Bowl ad, which depicts a Mexican mother and daughter embarking on an arduous journey, apparently to leave their country of origin.

22 years ago I arrived in the US with nothing but dreams. Today, I'll be in a Super Bowl commercial. Thank you for everything, America! Thank YOU for being there with me. #SB50 #onlyinamerica On a more sad note, I reported on Twitter yesterday that former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell passed away. Thank you for coming forward. Thank you for speaking. Enjoy the next level. Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday!

Pro-Abortion Group: Tebow Super Bowl Ad Promotes Domestic Violence Washington, DC -- Unable to gain any tradition by calling the Focus on the Family Tim Tebow Super Bowl ad extremist or over the top, pro-abortion groups today are offering a new dig on the commercial. The president of NOW and other abortion advocates claim the ad promotes domestic violence. http://www.lifenews.com/nat5975.html

Perhaps the ads from Focus on the Family featuring Pam Tebow and her son Tim act as a sort of Rorshach test for some people. Where most viewers would see the ads as playful, light, and welcoming, some see them as a threat — and maybe some don’t see them at all outside of their preconceived notions. Power Line notices that the Associated Press misreports the content of the two ads: But not every commercial was strictly humorous. Automaker Toyota aired several pregame ads to reassure worried owners after its recalls connected with accelerator problems. And a commercial by conservative Christian...

NEW YORK -- Even the long-awaited Super Bowl ad from conservative group Focus on the Family came with a punchline -- a hard hit and a soft sell. The 30-second "Celebrate family, celebrate life" ad starring Heisman winner Tim Tebow ended with a surprise -- Tim Tebow tackling his mother after she says she nearly lost him during her pregnancy. The pair jokes that they have to be "tough" with all the family has been through. The Women's Media Center, which had objected to Focus on the Family advertising in the Super Bowl, said it was expecting a "benign" ad...

By now, most Americans have heard about the famous Tim Tebow advertisement Focus on the Family will air during the Super Bowl. The ad reportedly features Tebow and his mother Pam and her story about how she decided against an abortion. But few people have hear Tebow's father discuss the story of Tim's birth. As most people know, Pam Tebow got sick with dysentery while on a missions trip to the Philippines and her doctors suggested she consider an abortion because of the medication she was taking while pregnant with Tim. She refused, gave birth, and son Tim led the...

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on an attempt by feminist lawyer Gloria Allred to get CBS to drop the pro-life Super Bowl ad featuring Tim Tebow and his mother: Gloria Allred is no stranger to the subject of abortion, so it is not surprising that she wants to kill this pro-life ad. Her letter to Les Moonves of CBS, available at RadarOnline.com, wants the ad pulled because it is allegedly guilty of “misleading advertising.” Allred, who has not seen the ad, charges that when Tebow’s mother was being advised by doctors in the Philippines to consider an abortion (she...

<p>A popular pro-life video portraying President Obama as an unborn child has been rejected by NBC-TV as an ad during Sunday's Super Bowl.</p>
<p>"Imagine Spot 1," a YouTube video that has amassed more than 700,000 hits since its Jan. 2O premiere on Black Entertainment Television, was submitted earlier this week to NBC by Fidelis, a Chicago-based Catholic organization. As many of us learned from the 1978 comedy classic Animal House, vegetables can be very sensual (while people are sensuous). However, the magical combination of gorgeous girls and fresh vegetables is not getting a whole heck of a lot of love from NBC - the network broadcasting Super Bowl XLIII on Sunday. In fact, they have said no to a commercial from - of all places - PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals). The organization known for (among other things) the "Holocaust On Your Plate" campaign and the push to rename fish "sea kittens" is being told by...

Amy Borkowsky needs to find a good man, and she wants your help. She’s not asking for much, at least not by the standards of the mortgage industry. Just enough money to buy a personal ad — during the Super Bowl. OK, it’s a bit pricey: $3 million. But, Borkowsky points out, where else can she get the attention of 60 million American males, several of whom may be interested in meeting a 5-foot-6, 110-pound comedian and best-selling author (“Amy's Answering Machine: Messages from Mom,” “Statements: True Tales of Life, Love, and Credit Card Bills”) who is a member of...

<p>Last evening, as I watched the Superbowl with my nine year old son, I became extremely annoyed at the MARS Corporation and their advertisement for Snickers which showed two guys locking lips. I can't even fathom why somebody thought that this would be a good advertisement for that particular product and why they chose to air it during this event, especially when they knew children would be watching. If their aim was to draw controversy in the hopes of increasing sales, then I sincerely hope they missed their mark. I hope that, instead, they lose sales because of their idiocy.</p>
