A social media mob led by a race-baiting civil rights huckster incited calls for violent retribution after an allegedly racist cow won an award at the annual Wisconsin State Fair, forcing officials to issue a kowtowing public apology and blackball the offending bovine from the premises. The cancel culture grilling started earlier this month when a fair-goer noticed the cow’s name and posted a picture on social media. “We’re walking through the dairy barn, enjoying ourselves, and came across the nameplate and was kind of taken aback,” David Blake told a Wisconsin ABC affiliate. “It’s one of those words, one...

A woman has sued a California county and its district fair after her daughter's pet goat was sold for $902, slaughtered, and barbecued despite the family wanting to withdraw its entry for auction. Jessica Long's family bought Cedar the goat, a seven-month-old white Boer, in April 2022 and the animal soon formed an attachment to her nine-year-old daughter - who fed and cared for it everyday. However, the family decided to enter Cedar into the Shasta District Fair’s junior livestock auction on June 24, 2022 - where the animals are sold off to be used as meat. But long before...

Gun shows at the state fair could soon be a thing of the past in California. A proposed law would ban the sale of firearms or ammunition on state property, effectively barring gun shows from being held at any of California’s 73 state fairgrounds. Senate Bill 915, introduced by Sen. Dave Min, D-Costa Mesa, was unveiled Thursday. The bill has yet to be assigned to a committee, but Min said in an interview with The Sacramento Bee that he expects it to go before the Senate Public Safety Committee first. “County fairgrounds are supposed to be family-friendly venues and have...

Two days before the start of The Big E, the Board of Health will hold a hearing on an indoor mask requirement in public places to combat the spread of COVID-19. Get Dan Mourning talking about the 2021 New Mexico State Fair and he’s off like one of those pulse-accelerating, mile-a-minute midway rides that don’t slow down for head-snapping turns or stomach-flopping drops. You know he’s going to stop at some point, but it just doesn’t seem like it will be soon. “I’m just ready to open those gates on Thursday morning and welcome people back to the grounds. Everybody involved with the fair can’t wait. We have doubled the amount of free entertainment. We have animal races. Ducks and goats, not just pigs any more. “We have the petting zoo...

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Iowa State Fair is less than a week away and some areas are still under construction including the Grandstand. The renovated Grandstand will seat 14,500 people compared to the original 10,500. “I say we have four things, ease of getting in. You’re going to get in easier. You don’t have to have tickets for the food and beverage this year, so the lines should be shorter for that.
