Who says police can’t have a little fun. In 2013, two Slidell police officers decided to help out a business by collecting and bringing back runaway shopping carts. The average cost of a shopping cart ranges from $85-$250 a cart. The video produced and posted to the department’s official Facebook page Monday night is nothing short of amazing and it’s totally hilarious. So far it has been shared over 1,711 times.

Researchers from the University of Arizona swabbed shopping cart handles in four states looking for bacterial contamination. Of the 85 carts examined, 72 percent turned out to have a marker for fecal bacteria. The researchers took a closer look at the samples from 36 carts and discovered Escherichia coli, more commonly known as E. coli, on 50 percent of them - along with a host of other types of bacteria. Safety of children in grocery carts: adults' personal health and safety habits. Observations of 246 children and the adults accompanying them were carried out in supermarkets. Of those arriving and leaving by automobile (n = 194), 36% of adults used safety belts, and 51.1% of children used safety belts or restraining seats.
