Oil and gas companies would be liable for damages caused by climate change -related disasters in California under legislation introduced Monday by two Democratic lawmakers. The proposal claims that the oil industry intentionally deceived the public about the risks of fossil fuels on climate change that now have intensified storms and wildfires and caused billions of dollars in damage in California. Such disasters have also driven the state insurance market to a crisis where companies are raising rates, limiting coverage or pulling out completely from regions susceptible to wildfires and other natural disasters, supporters of the bill said. Under state...

ontingent on political beliefs or withhold services based on them. In other words, there are not supposed to be loyalty oaths in this country. But California’s new law requiring foster parents to “affirm” the sexuality and gender identity of kids as a condition for caring for them is leading to a purge of Christian families from the foster care system, according to Christian groups and conservative leaders. The law, SB 407, was enacted in 2023 and sponsored by California State Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) with this exact purpose in mind: to weed out Christian families from the foster system...

We just recently looked at the published academic works of Yoel Roth, Ph.D., Twitter’s former Head of Trust & Safety. Christopher Rufo called them “wild,” and they certainly were Grindr-intensive … not that there’s anything wrong with that. We just kind of find it hard to believe you can earn a doctorate in communications writing about a gay hook-up app. An old tweet from Roth is making the rounds today, but first, we want to highlight a complaint from California State Senator Scott Wiener: Yes we’re aware of the grift you’re running with Weiss & company to justify letting Nazis...

We’re honestly starting to lose track of all of the ‘hate crimes’ that have ended up being complete hoaxes over the past few years. More times than not, someone is looking to prove how HATEFUL America is by … faking hate. Because you know, that makes total sense. Our country is so hateful you have to lie about how hateful it is to prove it’s hateful. Or something. Case in point

... “With talk of layoffs right now, including at companies like Twitter, a reminder that the City and County of San Francisco is hiring,” Breed stated on the platform run by Musk since last week. “With over 4,500 vacancies, we are ready to help sign people up.” Breed also included a link to get people started on a job application. “We have a lot of talent in our community,” Breed stated. “This city has good jobs that can transition easily from the private sector, such as analysts, IT, and engineering. But we also have vacancies in transit operations, public safety,...

Count this Twitchy editor not one bit surprised that California State Senator Scott Wiener has been aware of Paul Pelosi’s alleged attacker for a long time. Nothing against the gay community, but LGBTQ activist Wiener wanted to lower penalties for LGBT sex predators and floated a bill “offering Drag Queen 101 as part of the K-12 curriculum.” Age of consent is a big issue with Wiener, who also wanted to lower the age of consent for the COVID-19 vaccine from 18 to 12. Wiener told KRON4 that he has been aware of assault suspect David DePape “for a long time...

Scott Wiener sent out an email Friday inviting me to his annual pumpkin carving event in San Francisco. And, there will be celebrity drag queen judges and awards for winning pumpkins! Isn’t pumpkin carving an activity that kids usually do? Is this like Drag Queen Story Hour? “Carve a pumpkin, get judged by drag queens…” the invitation says. “We’ll have pre-scooped pumpkins ready for you to...

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a bill Thursday making California a sanctuary state for children to obtain “gender-affirming” surgery or drugs. The bill, SB 107, was sponsored by Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), who also sponsored a law in 2020 that reduced penalties for adults who had oral or anal sex with a willing minor child within ten years of their age by removing a requirement that they register as sex offenders, leaving that to judges’ discretion. The law ostensibly addressed discrimination against LGBTQ people.

On April 19, 2018, the California State Assembly approved Bill AB 2943. According to this bill, the Church can no longer preach or teach that homosexuality is wrong and cannot try to correct that behavior. Many are concerned about the ramifications of this. Even psychotherapy for gender dysphoria is against this law. One astute Facebook user commented, "editing the Bible would be the next logical step." The California Assembly, by a vote of 50-18, approved this bill, telling churches and other institutions that uphold traditional beliefs that if they advocated their views about gender and sexual orientation, they could get...

State Sen. Scott Wiener is celebrating today — his bill, SB 107, which will erode parents’ rights by allowing minor children to travel to California for trans procedures, puberty blockers, known as “gender-affirming health care.” Should SB 107 pass, non-parent adults could bring minor children to California for experimental and damaging transgender medical interventions, without the knowledge or consent of their parents. The bill would make California a destination state for “transgender” procedures for minors.

A bill to require doctors to receive training for providing inclusive care for transgender and intersexed Californians passed 8-2 in the Senate Health Committee earlier this week. Senate Bill 923, authored by Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), would specifically require a Medi-Cal managed care plan, a PACE organization, a health care service plan, or a health insurer to require all staff and contracted providers to complete evidence based trans-inclusive healthcare training for those identified as transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex (TGI). Should a complaint be filed and found to be valid, a refresher course we be imposed on the person...

Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) has made good on his promise to begin his effort to “decriminalize all drug use” step by step with the introduction of several bills at the start of the new legislative session. Senate Bill 57 creates “safe injection sites” in Oakland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles where drug addicts can use illicit drugs under medical supervision. Senate Bill 73 lowers the criminal penalties on users and dealers of heroin, opiates or opium derivatives, salts, cannabis, phencyclidine (PCP), and other dangerous drugs. Still promised, but not yet introduced, is a bill Wiener says will legalize all...

San Francisco state Senator Scott Wiener has introduced a new bill to decriminalize adult men having sex with boys and he and his allies in the media are smearing all opposition as "homophobic" and "anti-Semitic." From The Federalist, "No California Shouldn't Decriminalize Adult Sex With 14-Year-Olds": LGBT activists have pushed reasonable notions of equality to its limits with obscene perversions. State Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco -- the same lawmaker who co-sponsored a bill in 2017 to remove the felony penalty for knowingly exposing another person to HIV -- has introduced a bill, Senate Bill 145 to give judges more...
