I’d never thought that some liberals would actually take a stand and call out their colleagues for being totally unspooled for caving to the progressive mob. For some, the liberal agenda they grew up with is now considered right-wing in some circles. Why? Well, it doesn’t go far enough. It has to be far left and quasi-Marxist. The woke clowns we used to mock on The College Fix and Campus Reform have graduated. And now, their toxic agenda is spreading like a brush fire. No dissent is permitted. Just one slip-up or differing opinion from that of the far-left mob...

When Sandra Spagnoli was first hired as Beverly Hills’ police chief in 2016, the choice was met with effusive praise. The city’s first female top cop earned an adoring piece in Vogue. Her experience as the former chief of the San Leandro and Benicia police departments made her trusted figure in law enforcement. Fast-forward to the present day and it’s not uncommon to hear town hall critics shouting comparisons to Adolf Hitler. In the past two years, at least 20 current or former police officials have filed complaints or lawsuits against Spagnoli. That number could top 30 by the end...

SAN LEANDRO (KPIX 5) — Two East Bay teenagers have been arrested for killing a man over an iPhone X. The victim: Danny Carlos, a 32-year-old father from Redwood City. Ray Kelly. .... They got search warrants for the letgo servers and found out who Carlos was communicating with on the app. That led detectives to 18-year-old Jordan Patton and 18-year-old...

I have to apologize to the readers of American Thinker. Last week, I wrote about more than a dozen episodes of black mob violence around the country over the Memorial Day weekend. Turns out I was wrong: I missed at least three examples of large-scale racial violence. Or 300 depending on how you count. So let’s see if we can make up for these grievous errors of omission, starting in Chicago. Shortly after Memorial Day, cops and other readers of the Second City Cop blog in Chicago started reporting large groups of black people rampaging through the upscale Gold Coast...

SAN LEANDRO -- Over the objections of residents and human rights groups, the city will raise the flag of the People's Republic of China on Oct. 1, a day that honors the formation of the sovereign state in 1949 by communist leader Mao Zedong. The City Council voted 4-3 Monday to approve the request by Councilman Benny Lee, a Chinese-American who said he intended the move as a sign of support for the city's growing Chinese population and a sign the city is open for Chinese business and investment. The approval -- endorsed by Lee and fellow council members Ursula...

After months of reading about the San Leandro Crossing Project, it seems to me that in the future it would make more sense for architects to design the low-cost housing units so that they could be interspersed with the “regular” housing. I live in the Estudillo Estates area and on my street there is an intermingling of small and large homes and also apartment buildings. Nearing the downtown area, some blocks are commercially zoned. This insures diversity and, in my opinion, it is much more interesting and less economically exclusionary than some other areas of San Leandro.

"I don't like it. That's a lot of money we're giving to try and fix things that happened too long ago, like the mortgage crisis. The government should spread it around to more people" Eric Jones, San Leandro (snip) "We don't know yet if this plan will work. I hope it turns out for the best, that the money is spent where it is needed most. Right now, we need to support Barack. He inherited Bush's problems. He just needs time to fix them." Riders on BART got quite a surprise at the San Leandro station Friday morning. A woman gave birth to a baby on the station's platform at 7 a.m. The mother was with her 2-year-old child when she started going into labor at the top of the escalator. A station agent and a police officer helped her until paramedics showed up. A BART spokesman says it was a baby girl, and she and the mother are doing well. "They were trying to keep it as private as one can at a busy BART station," said Linton Johnson. Today's birth was the...

SAN LEANDRO — A battle is brewing in Sacramento this year, and left-leaning lawyer Robin Johansen has drawn her lines in the sand. She's not the only one. Less than two months into what Gov. Arnold Schwarzenneger promises will be "the year of reform," at least 71 proposed state-wide ballot initiatives are already pending at the state attorney general's office. Johansen said she is knee-deep in working on about 15 ballot propositions intended to thwart some of the governor's proposed fiscal overhauls. Her San Leandro firm, Remcho, Johansen, & Purcell, has officially filed about five so far. "It's just a...
