(CNSNews.com) - This year's presidential election is more than just a political race for liberal and conservative activists. It's a foot race too. The group Run Against Bush is using one of the president's favorite activities - running -- to raise money aimed at preventing Bush from obtaining a second term. The group offers T-shirts for a $25 donation, helps members communicate about upcoming road races and how to plan their own, and encourages members to solicit athletic "sponsors" so the funds can be used in the campaign against Bush. William Coleman, the co-founder of Run Against Bush, said his...

WASHINGTON, July 2 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Hundreds of young professionals, organizers and activists packed the roof deck and spilled inside a local Washington, D.C., club this week to mingle with each other and learn about the efforts of a group of wildly creative, progressive organizations. The event was hosted by the "Vast Left Wing Conspiracy,"(http://www.VastLeftWingConspiracy.org ) a group organized in May to introduce young professionals to each other and to a variety of innovative progressive groups. The group includes veterans of the campaigns of Wesley Clark, Howard Dean , Dennis Kucinich, and many others. "The creative efforts of these groups...

Madison - Joe Wiesner is literally taking it to the streets to try to defeat President Bush this fall. The 35-year-old freelance computer consultant is a longtime competitive runner, but this summer he'll be running with a campaign message on his back. A group called Run Against Bush meets for a lunch-hour workout at Lake Park in Milwaukee. From left are Shannon Allen of Whitefish Bay, Joe Wiesner of Whitefish Bay, Matt O'Neill of Milwaukee, Chris Meuler of Wauwatosa, Sara Dill of Milwaukee, Rob Thielke of Wauwatosa and Brian Spahn of Madison. The group wears T-shirts bearing the organization's name...

The morning clouds have broken, dispelling the threat of rain. I head over to Waterfront Park, where a clutch of joggers limbers up near the Burnside Bridge. On this Saturday morning, I have traded in my reporter's notepad for a tape recorder and a pair of running shoes. My mission: to infiltrate Run Against Bush, a grassroots organization dedicated to defeating George W. Bush in November by an unconventional method--putting one foot in front of the other. Started in February by an impromptu group of Washington, D.C., political neophytes, Run Against Bush now boasts 4,000 members from all 50 states...

"Why Are You Running?" Support Run Against Bush's First TV Ad Campaign *POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN!* New Filming Date - Next Tuesday June 29th We have said from the beginning that Run Against Bush is about each individual member’s reasons for running. Now we have a chance to showcase some of those reasons. We have been given the opportunity to make a TV ad to take our members’ voices to key battleground states. But we need your help to do it. A production crew has donated the time and equipment to make the ad, but we still need to pay...

This group has been flying under radar for a while: Run Against Bush. I've posted information here about the TV commercial they're filming on June 22 in New York. There is another media event just ripe for a visit from any interested Wisconsin FReepers two days before that on Fathers Day, June 20.(Wish I could make it.) Run Against Bush also has "Jog Against Bush" jaunts. As I've commented before, they have no "Run FOR Kerry" shindigs. I wonder why?? Hee hee hee. From their blog: Madison, WI - Get on TV! I just got off the phone with a...

In my last race I breezed past one of these "Run Against Bush" losers. As I mentioned in my post about this group, I find it hilarious that the dimmy-crats are unable to run for Kerry. They have to run against our president. I live in the Chicago area and won't be able to make it, but attention NYC and New York metro Freepers!! The negatively charged "Run Against Bush" group is filming a TV commercial in Central Park next Tuesday (June 22). Give them a FReeper "hello." This is from their web site: "Why Are You Running?" Support Run...

This morning I ran a half-marathon (13.miles) in St. Charles, IL. Ironically, a northern Illinois town that in the early 20th century probably wasn't too different than Dixon, IL, Ronaldus Maximus' boyhood home. Though about that during the race. So here I am at the start, and I see a light blue pastel shirt with "Run Against Bush.Org" and "Running for Change." I find it quite amusing that it's not "Running for Kerry," this guy can only be against Bush. Doesn't say much for John Fn Kerry. Turns out that there are these "Run Against Bush" groups in 48 states....
