Republican congressional candidate Randy Demmer unveiled his first TV ad as national Republicans announced plans to sink big money into the race in hopes of knocking off Democrat Tim Walz. The National Republican Congressional Committee is spending $85,000 on the TV ads through its coordinating campaign funds. The NRCC's independent expenditure arm also plans to pump another $102,000 into campaign ads in the 1st Congressional District starting today.
