Ray: Proving intent. Some would believe (or at least claim to believe) that Saddam wanted to comply with UN mandates to get the sanctions removed. This document shows without a doubt (unless proven inauthentic) that this is not the case. The IIS demonstrates that not only is it procuring prohibited items but providing secret facilities to hide them from the UN. I also believe that this demonstrates proof that Iraq did hide prohibited items from the UN which were not found. I have seen nothing about these computers in UN reports. Please let me know if anyone finds a reference...

Fitting the pieces together In February 2001, the Sunday Times ran the article Was this Saddam’s Bomb by Gwynne Roberts. I couldn't find the original but it is also on Globalsecurity.org . I only recently read this article and found it interesting but very hard to believe. One of the newly released documents CMPC-2003-015757 contains the Roberts' article in English. This is the first time I have seen it. I did some research and found no serious academic or professional rebuttals other than people who also found it hard to believe. However, it seems that supporting evidence has been right...

    - The IIS activity covers many countries in the Middle East and their contacts reach the US, Canada, Europe and Russia. - Other documents contain a paragraph mentioning that Iraq is buying off opposition parties in Russia. - In this first post I will translate parts of a document giving guidelines for work and assessing the progress of contact recruitments in Europe and the US. - In a later post a document will show Iraq’s efforts to send agents into Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. - Before you start reading ask yourself: Are so called “Peace Activists” considered as non governmental...

Ray: Sammi provides a partial translation of a notebook that appears to be from an Iraqi connected with the former SSO. The Center for Non-Proliferation Studies describes the SSO: If authentic, this document helps to establish the role that Syria played with Iraq as an arms provider. A lot of people may not realize this but Syria provided Iraq with many conventional munitions before the Gulf War and after. It is a little easier to accept the "Mission Impossible" sounding plot that Saddam moved remaining WMD to Syria if you realize they were sneaking weapons across the border all the...
