American activist Rachel Corrie was killed in Gaza ten years ago today. The International Solidarity Movement write this message in her memory. Rachel, a 23 year old woman from Olympia, Washington, was crushed to death by an Israeli army bulldozer on the 16th March 2003, whilst protesting non-violently against the demolition of a Palestinian house by Israeli forces. As an activist she spoke out about the injustices that she saw in Gaza. “I feel like I’m witnessing the systematic destruction of a people’s ability to survive. It’s horrifying… Sometimes I sit down to dinner with people and I realize there...

JERUSALEM — Nine years after their daughter was crushed by an Israeli military bulldozer in the Gaza Strip, the parents of American activist Rachel Corrie lost their legal bid Tuesday to hold Israel responsible for her death and force authorities to reopen the investigation. A Haifa judge rejected the parent's negligence lawsuit, calling Corrie's death an accident that she brought upon herself by refusing to leave what had been declared a closed military zone. "It was a very regrettable accident and not a deliberate act," said Judge Oded Gershon.

Following in the footsteps of intellectual giants like Barbra Streisand and Sean Penn -- who have apparently convinced themselves that standing in front of a camera and reading lines that someone else wrote for you qualifies you to give advice on foreign policy -- world-renowned holistic health guru, Dr. Deepak Chopra, has somehow managed to parlay his ability to cure sore throats into making my blood pressure spike to gasket-blowing levels. In his Huffington Post column (www.huffingtonpost.com) this week, Chopra advises us to bend over and take our medicine, saying that "becoming used to terror helps (us) defeat it." I...
