There was an article today in the Olympian, Olympia, Washington's newspaper, regarding concern about about a large BC 2004 campaign sign hanging at an overpass adjacent to Fort Lewis. I could not post the original article due to copyright restrictions so I decided to Vanitize it. The overpass in question is on exit 122 over Interstate 5 where FReepers and Operation Support Our Troops (OSOT) members stand together as Patriots to acknowledge the sacrifices and brave service of America's troops. The same overpass where we gathered for our March Against Terror on 9/11/2004.The author of this article begins by saying...

An Issaquah woman who has devoted the last 18 months to supporting the nation's soldiers received President George W. Bush's personal thanks Thursday for her efforts. Nadine Gulit of Issaquah was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award from USA Freedom Corps, and was personally recognized by Bush during a brief greeting at Boeing Field where Bush arrived from Spokane. ``It was outstanding,'' Gulit said later. ``I got a big hug -- and a handshake. He is my son's commander in chief.'' Gulit, 73, is being honored for her role as a co-founder of Operation: Support Our Troops, a grassroots group...

South Prairie hails its hero SUSAN GORDON; The News Tribune U.S. Army Spc. Kris Atherton lost an arm in the Iraq war in July, but the 24-year-old still looks more like a college student than a Purple Heart recipient. A healthy pink flush colored his cheeks as he rode through South Prairie Saturday morning in a vintage fire truck. His wife, Heather, sat on his lap and shivered in the light rain. The small East Pierce County town saluted Atherton with a four-block-long parade and a reception at the Washington Soldiers Home and Colony in Orting. Atherton's hometown welcome followed...

We weren't at the massive Bellevue rally of 5000 strong, but some Washington FReepers, local patriotic citizens, and Support the Troops Groups came to the Camp Murray overpass and made history on Saturday! Participating from FR were CyberCowboy777 and family, FreeTheUSA, dhardt, MarMema and kids, and Libertina, Libertina's Dad and brother. Gathering on the overpass next to the base from 10:00 am on, we were asked by police to choose one side of the bridge, so that protestors (supposedly arriving at 12:00) could "have a space." Though Support The Troops people have previously held large rallies of several thousand with...
