COCOA, Fla. -- A law enforcement officer who is still recovering from being shot six times last week spoke at a news conference Thursday morning.

Omaha Police Officer Paul LatscharFahey asked that the citizens of Omaha pray for Latschar. The 8-year veteran of the Omaha Police Department was shot and critically wounded last night in north Omaha. Latschar is a member of the department's gang unit. He was wounded just before 11 p.m. during a traffic stop at 42nd Street and Camden Avenue. The officer was hit in the lower abdomen and arm, according to people with knowledge of the officer's injuries who spoke on the condition that they not be identified. Lt. Fresno police confirmed the death of a man who held them at bay for seven hours after he shot two officers early Thursday. 11:08 a.m. : Fresno Deputy Police Chief Roger Enmark reported that a police officer who was shot several times has undergone surgery at University Medical Center and is in stable condition with wounds that are described as not life-threatening. The other officer, who was shot once, was treated at UMC and has been released, Enmark said.

We just had a patrolman shot earlier today. Just outside of Cortez, Colorado. Only info I have about his name is Patrolman Chris. He was shot by a man driving a silver Buick Skylark, 80's model with Texas plates # 3NPWY. Please pray for the officer (for life), and for the capture of the shooter. Thankyou

A West Jordan, Utah Police Officer has been shot and is in critical condition at a local hospital. Just blocks from my house, this is such a shock because it is such a quiet neighborhood. The shooter was a 16-year old boy who had carjacked one or two cars, who, after shooting the officer, turned the gun on himself and is dead.
