A West Jordan, Utah Police Officer has been shot and is in critical condition at a local hospital. Just blocks from my house, this is such a shock because it is such a quiet neighborhood. The shooter was a 16-year old boy who had carjacked one or two cars, who, after shooting the officer, turned the gun on himself and is dead.
Prayers for the unnamed officer and his family would be appreciated. Prayers for the shooter and his family are in order.
I'll try to stay on top of the story and will update on the condition of the officer, now downgraded to extremely critical and is undergoing surgery.

My prayers to the officer, brother officers and his family. Also much thanks to the 16 year old little puke for blowing his own brains out and saving the taxpayers a bunch of money. The sad thing is, the creep will end up being classifed by the Brady Bunch, et al, as one of those "children" killed by a evil gun.

My prayers are with him and his family.
Last week, we had the first on-duty killing of a police officer here since 1988. The entire community is mourning the loss of a good man.

This is such a tragedy. My sister lives in West Jordan also, right off of 90th South.

Thank you for the update, although it was not the one I had been praying for.
Lord, bless the soul of your dear servant, Ronald Wood, and provide strength and comfort to his family & friends.
To: Faith
Your prayers are needed once again for these two families. How horrible it must be to be the parents of the 16 year old.

Heavenly Father,
We struggle to make sense of such a horrible tragedy and the lives that have been needlessly lost here. We come to you seeking strength and comfort for the officer's family, asking that You would give them the courage to endure the darkness of this hour. Surely their tears are mingled with Your own. We know how much You love them, Father, and we place them in Your arms. We ask also for Your arms to surround the family of the young man. Help them to deal with their loss and the tremendous burden they must feel.
Comfort this community, Father. When violence and death invade, it is a shattering upheaval of the sense of safety that we all cherish. Please bring healing to all the people, Lord, and let good somehow come from this sad chain of events. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
