Prior to Freddie Freeman's walk-off grand slam, MLB fans couldn't get over a certain fan's hat for Game 1 of the World Series. There was a fan wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat while sitting in the first row behind home plate. It's unclear if she was rooting for the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers. For all we know, she could've went to the game strictly to make a political statement before the presidential election.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.”

When politicians in Washington D.C. planned to infuse the economy with trillions of dollars in Wuhan coronavirus "relief funds," fiscal conservatives warned about the inevitability of widespread fraud and abuse. Once again, they were correct. A new report from the Associated Press shows "pandemic relief" money, earned by hard working taxpayers, was used for over-the-top vacations, parties and other completely unrelated expenditures. "Thanks to a sudden $140 million cash infusion, officials in Broward County, Florida, recently broke ground on a high-end hotel that will have views of the Atlantic Ocean and an 11,000-square-foot spa," the Associated Press Reports. "In New...

The Astros announced Taubman’s firing Thursday. SEATTLE -- They say misery loves company. But for the Seattle Mariners, misery is theirs alone. You might pardon Seattleites for rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals in their futile attempt to reach the World Series this year. Not because we're fans of Paul Goldschmidt or Yadier Molina, but because they were our last hope to keep the hometown Mariners from a rather dubious distinction. But the hopes died when the Washington Nationals completed their sweep of the Cardinals in the NLCS Tuesday night. The Nationals are World Series bound for the first time in their franchise history, and the...

The Daily Beast published a hit piece on baseball Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera, attacking the New York Yankees legend's "far-right politics." But the outspoken Christian told Fox News "that won't change my position, that won't change my belief." Rivera, the greatest closer of all time, said his faith is "No. 1" in his life and he doubled down on his support for President Trump and the state of Israel. "Mr. President Trump to me, he was a friend of mine before he became president," Rivera told "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday. "So, because he's president I will turn my...

It’s not every day that something truly shocking happens in baseball. There are thousands of games each year, each pitch photographed and videotaped and tracked on radar to the millimeter and microsecond, so there is really very little new under the sun. But what’s happened to the Yankees over the first three weeks of the season is truly shocking. This past weekend, right fielder Aaron Judge went on the IL with a strained oblique muscle—and I know this isn’t the point, but when a guy as big as Judge pulls a muscle, it has to register on the Richter scale—which...

They're not winning many baseball games, so the New York Yankees have decided that virtue-signaling is the next-best thing. Get a load of this stupidity from whoever it is now running the Bronx Bombers: Today, the Yankees became the 1st major North American sports team to sign on to the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework, the aim of which is to to bring greenhouse emissions in line with the Paris Climate Change Agreement & inspire others to take ambitious climate action.

Eli Grba, the first player to throw a pitch for the Angels, died Monday night in Florence, Ala., after a three-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 84. Grba, a bespectacled pitcher with a penchant for partying and a competitive spirit, was known as the Original Angel. With the opening selection of MLB’s first expansion draft in December 1960, Angels general manager Fred Haney made Grba the first addition to the Angels’ inaugural roster. “I’m a trivia question until I die,” Grba said in a 2011 television interview. “I’m the first guy that’s ever been drafted — and the first...

Mel Stottlemyre, who spent over 40 years in baseball as a New York Yankees pitcher and pitching coach for both the Yankees and the New York Mets, died on Sunday at 77. Stottlemyre, who is survived by his wife and two sons, had been battling bone marrow cancer for 20 years. Stottlemyre spent almost 25 years as a pitching coach, and built a reputation as a legend. One pitch cost New York Yankee hurler C.C. Sabathia a lot of money Thursday. Sabathia was tossed from Thursday’s game after hitting Tampa Bays Rays catcher Jesus Sucre in the bottom of the sixth inning. Umpire Vic Carapazza determined that it was in retaliation for a pitch thrown by Rays reliever Andrew Kittredge at Austin Romine in the top of the sixth. Sabathia didn’t deny that it was thrown in response to Kittredge throwing at Romine. But it did cost him some money. He has an incentive clause in his contract that said if he pitched 155 innings this year,...

The Yankees have agreed to a deal to acquire O's closer Zach Britton, pending physicals, according to MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi. Right-handers Dillon Tate, who is the Yankees' No. 9-ranked prospect, and Cody Carroll, who's ranked No. 15, and Triple-A left-hander Josh Rogers are in the package for Britton, according to sources. The Orioles were still reviewing medical records, a source told MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli, so it's unlikely a deal will be announced on Tuesday night. The Yankees will pick up the remainder of Britton's salary, which is about $5 million for the rest of 2018, and no international pool...

The club released this statement Friday afternoon: "In response to the reprehensible remarks made by Papa John's founder and owner, the New York Yankees are suspending their relationship with the company." Papa John's founder John Schnatter resigned as chairman of the board on Wednesday, hours after Schnatter apologized for using a racial slur during a conference call in May.

The Yanks have made a "strong offer" to the Baltimore Orioles for the star infielder, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, who suggests that while the Bronx Bombers may not be the favorite, they clearly are a player in this sweepstakes.
