This amazing monastery, which containing relics from empty tomb of Jesus Christ, was originally built by the Russian Church's most controversial leader, and now restored in all its gloryNew Jerusalem Monastery, founded in 1656 by Patriarch Nikon, remains one of Russia's holiest places. This patriarch's reforms to church services sparked a major schism in the Russian Church, creating the sect of Old Believers. While Patriarch Nikon may still be one of the most controversial figures of Russian Church history, one thing we can all agree upon is the beauty of his colossal monastery. President Putin was very impressed by its...

Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., said U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice went beyond the talking points she was given on the terrorist attack in Libya when she appeared on Sunday talk shows shortly after the Sept. 11 attack. Ayotte, along with five other senators, met with Rice on the Hill this week to discuss her reaction to the attack, which left four Americans dead. Ayotte said she was “very troubled” by what she heard, noting specifically that Rice had read the classified intelligence briefings saying that al-Qaida was behind the attack and did not mention that in her television appearances. Ayotte also...

The question posed by late yesterday’s post, “What’s So Great About Heaven” elicited some responses, many of which ring true from a Biblical perspective. I was compelled to put in my two cents and was blessed by the research done to compile the Bible verses to support the response. After some editing, I have now posted the response in an effort to resurrect the thread of this discussion. However, words do not do any justice in even beginning to scratch the surface of describing this state of Eternal Bliss we call Heaven. Incidentally, Heaven has nothing to do with the...

The Great Rift Valley extends some 4,000 miles southward from Syria north of Israel, through the Gulf of Aqaba, through Ethiopia, and all the way to Mozambique in southeast Africa. It harbors a giant fault, which has been under investigation as a model for sea floor spreading. A recent geologic event rent a gaping crack through the desert of Ethiopia, causing safety concerns for locals. These crustal plate motions may foreshadow rifting events further north in the Great Rift Valley...

On a recent journey to other places, I had the opportunity to visit New Jerusalem. Allow me to tell you what I observed. As one approaches the outskirts of the district, one can not help but notice the inhabitants thereof. Rev 22:15 For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Shaking his hand, and hearing him speak, learning his prejudices, his fears, his joys, his sorrows, looking in his eyes, I gradually entered into the city itself, and in mind, I stepped into the presence of the King.
