Why the new abbreviated format on FR? Extremely annoying. It makes me lose interest in the topic not to have some lead in.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Adobe Systems Inc. plans to introduce a new format for digital photos on Monday in an attempt to create an industry public standard to make the archiving and editing process compatible across all types of cameras and photo software. Most consumer digital cameras today capture images in the JPEG format, but a higher-quality raw photo format is gaining in popularity among higher-end and professional camera models. A major frustration among photographers, however, has been how different digital camera makers use different, proprietary versions of the so-called raw format, industry analysts say. That incompatibility has forced users,...

I have seen the newly redesigned Rolling Stone magazine with its big pictures, boffo graphics and stories the length of a thumbtack and all I can say is: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I am hereby redesigning Real Life to fit with my readers' shrinking attention spans and to capture a larger share of the youth readership market and did I lose you halfway through this sentence?

I would appreciate some assistance in setting up my 'topics'. Questions: Do the articles posted in the 'center' section reflect ONLY those topics I am subscribed to? Does my topics sidebar "limit" the articles that I get to see?Any assistance you can give me would be appreciated. This entire new 'topics' issue is most confusing. THANKS!

Well I have to admit that I was was one of the early posters today that said this format sucked...BUT after wandering around the board this afternoon, clicking, reading and LEARNING...I have to admit I think it will work well. Hey a dozen years ago what did we have.....NADA....then along came personal computers and a service called Prodigy..hell the speeds were so slow it would take an hour just to navigate a few posts...provided that you could find someone else that had a computer. We had a board on Prodigy discussing the Gulf War...then the Clinton election...Carl Limbacher (Carl of...

Enough of the whining. No more individuals who feel the need to make an Opus. No more "If I can't have the old forum...(whatever)." If you feel the need to make a criticism, make it. But, don't throw out all the good new stuff in the process. I sincerely believe that legitimate criticism and suggestions are being listened to and acted upon. Let's make the new forum format better than the old one and not just piss and moan.
