Some of the Democrats who have been spiking the ball in the end zone after the passage of the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” probably didn’t read all of the finer details in the bill. They’ve been celebrating its passage along with Joe Biden as the “biggest climate legislation” to ever be passed. They have also been grudgingly thanking West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin for getting the bill over the finish line. But it turns out that Manchin snuck in a few items that haven’t drawn many headlines yet and the climate warriors aren’t going to be very happy about them....

Once again, political pundits are saying that the California Republican Party is dead and never to rise again unless it begins to embrace more moderate candidates. And just where has trying to be Democrat-lite ever gotten the Republican Party but in trouble? You can’t out-promise or out-spend liberal Democrats! Politics is about real choices. Tim Conway made a great point tonight on his show that was confirmed by a trial attorney. In her attempt to use the illegal alien nanny to get Meg Whitman, Allred has opened her client to legal jeopardy. If Allred wanted to get back pay for the illegal alien, she should have negotiated that behind the scenes with Whitman's legal counsel. Instead, Allred went public for her own purposes. On Tuesday, California voters determined who will face off in November for key state offices, and San Francisco names had a big day. Governor: In one corner, we have Republican nominee and Atherton resident Meg Whitman, who has (so far!) spent $71 million of her own money to convince us she’s a fiscal conservative. SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Media General Inc. (MEG) said Monday that total revenue in July was $83.8 million, down 3.3% from the same month a year ago. The Richmond, Va.-based communications company said revenue at its publishing division fell 6.8%, while interactive media division revenue rose 37.4%. Broadcast division revenue decreased less than 1%, the company said. CHICAGO Richmond, Va.-based Media General Inc. reported Thursday that at revenues at its newspapers fell $6.1 million, or 14.9%, in May -- led huge declines at The Tampa Tribune. Media General Swings to 1st-Quarter Loss on Lower Publishing Profit, Higher Interest Cost RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Media General Inc. Thursday it said it swung to a first-quarter loss, reflecting lower operating profits for its publishing and broadcast divisions.
