9-0 against landmark status. The Cordoba abomination will be built. The “Victory Over America” shrine will become a favored destination for jihadists the world over. Meanwhile, Moron Mike is still bitching about soda-pop. And while we’re at it, let’s dispense with the Mark-1, Mod-0 liberal rationalization for this cowardly capitulation: that denying these jihadi subversives the “right” to build their 15-story slap in the face to the Ground Zero dead amounts to a violation of the First Amendment. There are mosques all over New York, dozens of them, if not scores. No one is denying Muslims the right to bow...

The city sued 12 gun dealers in five states for allegedly selling weapons that were traced to crimes committed in New York. The New York City Police Department has traced more than 300 confiscated guns sold by these dealers between 1994 and 2002, said Mayor Michael Bloomberg in announcing the lawsuit. The dealers are located in Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. The lawsuit is part of the mayor's pledge to crack down on gun dealers whose weapons wind up being used to commit crimes in New York. In May, he sued 15 dealers in an effort to get...

THE GOLDEN DOOREnforceable, Sustainable, Compassionate On immigration, it's time to get real. In every decade there is a critical domestic issue that shapes our political life for decades to come. In the 1960s, it was civil rights; in the 1970s, the Watergate crisis; in the 1980s, crime and drugs; and in the 1990s, welfare dependency. Today, it is immigration. In New York City, 500,000 of our more than three million immigrants are here illegally. Although they broke the law by illegally crossing our borders or overstaying their visas, our economy would be a shell of itself had they not, and...

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino criticized the federal government at a mayors summit Tuesday for not doing enough to stop the spread of illegal guns. "If the leadership won't come from Congress or from the White House, it will have to come from us," said Bloomberg, who headed the event with Menino that was billed as the first-ever national gun summit of mayors. Bloomberg has focused on gun control as a priority for his second term. Crime statistics show the number of shootings this year is slightly lower than last year, but high-profile gun deaths - like...
