NYC Submits
Cold Fury ^ | 8/3/10 | Mike Hendrix

9-0 against landmark status. The Cordoba abomination will be built. The “Victory Over America” shrine will become a favored destination for jihadists the world over. Meanwhile, Moron Mike is still bitching about soda-pop.

And while we’re at it, let’s dispense with the Mark-1, Mod-0 liberal rationalization for this cowardly capitulation: that denying these jihadi subversives the “right” to build their 15-story slap in the face to the Ground Zero dead amounts to a violation of the First Amendment. There are mosques all over New York, dozens of them, if not scores. No one is denying Muslims the right to bow down before their pedophile prophet any time they like, in any of those mosques they may choose.

The First Amendment doesn’t guarantee anyone the right to build a church anywhere they damned well please. In fact, the argument could be made (and has been) that, since Islam is dedicated to the destruction of human liberty worldwide — with the political, strategic, and tactical terms of the struggle specifically codified in the Koran — it’s more of a political ideology than a religion anyway.

But that argument isn’t necessary to establish the stark obscenity of the shadow the Cordoba Center will cast over Ground Zero. Either way, as is mentioned here, having the right to do something doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. This blasphemy is a deliberate provocation; its sponsors are famously skilled in subterfuge and misdirection, and their motives here are transparent, despite the soothing falsehoods they’ve put forth as reasons for allowing the thing to be built. American ideals are in direct conflict with their true goals; the preservation of those ideals, particularly on American soil, should take precedence over their perceived “right” to undermine them.

After a brief period of wakefulness after 9/11, New York has now officially gone back to sleep. That’s lamentable, and frankly, it’s pathetic.

Update! Drew M:

"If you really want to reach out to others, one of the first rules is you don’t do it in a way that is provocative and insulting to the people you allegedly are trying to come together with. Very often activists hide their activism in the gauzy, politically correct language of ‘out reach’ and ‘tolerance’ but their actions are anything but."

"When it comes to outreach and inter-faith harmony, wouldn’t the organizers of this center be better off putting their efforts into getting their coreligionists around the world to put some work towards that goal?

Exactly. It’s high time Muslims started to demonstrate some of that “tolerance” they’re always whining about, when they’re not wagging opprobrious fingers at the far more tolerant culture they’re surreptitiously seeking to destroy over some phantasmagorical “anti-Muslim backlash” that never, ever seems to materialize.

Breath: not holding it.

Updated update! Like I said: pathetic.

Commissioner Christopher Moore spoke movingly of his watching from a nearby subway entrance as the planes struck the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. But he also said the desire to protect the Park Place location because of its connection with the attacks was misguided, comparing it to an attempt to landmark “a guardrail on a highway where fatalities have occurred.”

So this is how far some clueless, morally stunted New Yorkers have wandered from truth, rational perspective, and historical awareness: the 9/11 atrocity is now the equivalent of a freeway accident. The only ray of hope:

Andy Sullivan, a construction worker who said he had helped man the “bucket brigades” at Ground Zero in the days after the attacks, asked loudly of the commissioners whether they had lost loved ones on 9/11.

“Be sure to look in those cameras,” Sullivan said as the commissioners left stage, “and apologize for this disgrace.”

Later, Sullivan told reporters that the controversy surrounding the mosque is far from over.

“You’re going to have a problem getting labor there,” he said. “Everyone I’ve talked to will not lift a finger to build that disgrace.”

I would hope every self-respecting blue-collar New Yorker would feel the same way about it.

Update to the updated update! The most hypocritical dodge in human history, from regime spokesliar Gibbs:

Robert Gibbs, spokesman for President Barack Obama, told reporters at a White House press briefing today that the mosque plan “is rightly a matter for New York City and the local community to decide.”

While saying the Obama and Bush administrations have emphasized that the U.S. is “not at war with a religion,” Gibbs said the White House is “not going to get involved in a local decision.”

Naaah, you assholes would never want to do that, would you? Just ask people in border-town Arizona, currently under siege by both Mexican illegals and your illegitimate fascist regime, about that. Or the people whose health-care decisions you intend to usurp and dictate from on high. Or the people who are interested neither in driving a Government Motors Volt, or in subsidizing those who do.

You authoritarian Reichsmarschalls are unconstitutionally interjecting yourselves in every least private decision Americans make…but you’re “not going to get involved in a local decision?” REALLY? And that’s not even considering the ridiculous notion underlying this insulting statement: that it was merely New York City that was attacked on 9/11, and not America itself.

Incredible. Utterly, utterly mind-blowing. Can these shitweasels possibly believe even the smallest portion of the bullshit they spew forth, and expect us all to swallow?

The balls on these cheap grifters. Not that I would want them intervening in anything more than they already are, naturally; it’s the staggering chutzpah of making a statement like this with a straight face that has me picking my jaw up off the floor here. Shock and awe-level hypocrisy, that’s what it is. One of the most puke-worthy pieces of such I’ve seen yet, from a regime that has managed to break all records in its race to the very bottom of the cesspool.

Exactly. I mean, "Córdoba Project". Referring to Córdoba, the capital of the Caliphate during the Muslim rule in Spain, where Muslim conquerors defeated Spanish Christians in the 700's AD. Naming the Ground Zero Mosque after the seat of power of the Islamic occupation of Spain...

How about a huge neon sign saying "The Caliphate pnwns you, NYC"?

Why do people ignore the freakin' obvious?

Herr Gibbels says,

> the Obama and Bush administrations have emphasized that
> the U.S. is “not at war with a religion,”

Islam is *NOT* a religion, you twit.

It is a violent, seditious, malignant self-contained, authoritarian, totalitarian, misogynistic political, cultural, judicial, and religious system fighting a bloody war for world domination and genocide of the Jews.

Mohammed was a pirate, a pedophile, a polygamist, a rapist, a murderer, a torturer, a thief, a liar, a plunderer, an adulterer, a trucebreaker, a slave trader, a slave owner, an executioner, a Jew hater, and a bloody, savage, genocidal lunatic.

His bloody death cult teaches that he was the “perfect man”, who all Mohammedans must emulate.

Those who do not emulate this bloody, savage, genocidal lunatic, or support those that do, are considered apostates and are routinely tortured and murdered in the most brutal fashion, when the “true believers” catch up to them.

NYC....now being called the "Meca of the West" by our middle eastern muslim islamic "friends".

And why not??? After all, the good citizens of NYC are allowing a monument to be erected right next to the greatest triumph of Islam over the west in the last 200 or more years! A fitting and just tribute to those brave martyrs of 9-11....

A mosque!!

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.... :(

Islam is a theoCRACY.

It is not simply a religion.

Since it seeks the overthrow of the US Constitution, it is no more protected than would be a UFO Cult seeking to overthrow the government.

makes a person go hmmmm.. 9-0

were they bought off or black-mailed?

are there already nukes planted in the city and an ultimatum issued that allow this or .. ?

this may have nothing to do with religion and everything to do with submission to a fanatical cult.

Not to mention the fact that the mosque is also going up in the largest Jewish city in the world. Maybe one of the rooms in the new mosque can house a chapter of Jews For The Destruction Of Israel.

Islam was smart to pick one of the most France-like places in America to get a foothold. Those bastards!

In a way this is like an Islam Normandy invasion of the United States.

The economy of the Caliphate was very diverse and successful. State-sponsored raids into neighbouring Christian kingdoms were very lucrative throughout the history of the Caliphate. Through the early years, tribute payments were made to Córdoba to guarantee safety. Muslim trade routes connected al-Andalus with the rest of the Mediterranean and beyond. There were many areas of industry that were revitalized during the Caliphate: textiles, ceramics, glassware, metalwork, and agriculture all benefiting the state. Tariffs were lucrative. Taxes implemented on Jews and Christians living within the Caliphate were another source of income.
...............
I know this is the awful Wkipedia junk, but people don’t even have a clue as to what is REALLY going on. WHY WOULD thay NAME this the CORDOBA PROJECT.

To bad we have to go to ancient history to find out the real motives of the MUSLIMS.

I don’t think they will ever get out of the dark ages.
