A progressive district attorney has declined to charge the state employee in Tim Walz-led Minnesota who was allegedly caught causing $20,000 damage by vandalizing half a dozen Teslas — a decision the local police chief ripped as the latest betrayal of victims. The suspected vandal, 33-year-old Minnesota government employee Dylan Bryan Adams, was allegedly spotted keying the vehicles and stripping their paint off while out walking his dog around the city. Despite what police believe to be evidence of Adams committing felonies, Hennepin County District Attorney Mary Moriarty will seek diversion rather than criminal charges. Adams was arrested a month...

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has decided not to file criminal charges against a 33-year-old man accused of inflicting $21,000 in damage to six Teslas in Minneapolis over a few-day span. Instead, the office will file for Dylan Bryan Adams, of Minneapolis, to be entered into an adult diversion program meant for first-time, low level offenders. “Our main priorities are to secure restitution for the victims and hold Mr. Adams accountable,” said Hennepin County Attorney’s Office spokesman Daniel Borgertpoepping, in a statement. “As a result, we will file for pre-charge diversion to best facilitate both of those goals. This is...

A young man who received a controversial plea deal for his role in a fatal carjacking as a teen is now charged with fleeing police in a stolen vehicle, a felony. After rejecting an earlier plea deal, Judge Michael Burns in December sentenced Husayn Braveheart to time served after he pleaded guilty to attempted assault in the 2019 shooting death of Steven Markey, 39, in northeast Minneapolis. As part of the agreement, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty dropped a count of second-degree murder. Braveheart’s co-defendant Jered Ohsman, who was 16 at the time of the carjacking and admitted firing the...

@HennepinAtty @MaryMoriarty couldn't find a reason to hold the suspect Daquan Stephen Rogers, 29, in custody. He's been released without charges despite another open case involving brawling charged by Metro Transit last month and a history of cases involving transit crimes and assaults. Of course, he was tossed plea deals in the assault cases dismissing the violent crime charges. Free to go on his merry way. (Video at link, warning, every disturbing)
