Richard Harris, who is the president and CEO of Make A Wish Foundation, might be wishing he did not bow to the #Woke #PC #FeelingsoverFacts crowd and stayed away from any sort of political controversy. Unfortunately taking an experimental vaccine currently is political, and when you walk into that arena, dumb things are going to happen to you.The shame is that the innocent kids who are very sick are the pawns in this. So, let’s start with the basics of what is happening here, and why Harris should have a huge headache right about now. From The Blaze…“We’ve approached this responsibility with...

When you’re 16 years old and living with and dying from cancer, no one would expect you to use the wish granted to you by the Make a Wish Foundation in a completely selfless way. But that’s just what Jeremiah Thomas did. In March, the all-star, state champion athlete was diagnosed with osteoblastic osteosarcoma, a bone cancer that is resistant to radiation therapy and has a survival rate of just 10 percent. With a tumor dangerously close to his heart and two on his spine, his doctors told his parents that it was too late. He was paralyzed from the...

It can take years to get the recipe just right. Thirteen-year-old Lucas Hobbs has a head start. He's already figured out the secret ingredient to a happy life. Hobbs knows what it's like to lean on others for help. "When I was at the hospital, people, like our neighbors and stuff, would bring us food," Lucas said. In January, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. "He went through chemotherapy, radiation ... it was really tough," his father said. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation approached Hobbs, the young teenager knew right away he wanted to work in a food truck. "I love...

It was a funeral procession like no other. More than a hundred truck drivers came together Friday to pay tribute to a little boy who loved monster trucks, but never got to see a monster truck jam. Three-year-old Elijah Steffen died earlier this month from a rare bone disease. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Elijah was scheduled to be a special guest at a Monster Truck Rally in Las Vegas. But he died before he could attend that event. On Friday, Elijah's family invited truck drivers to join the hour-long funeral procession through Mesa. The procession of vehicles included everything...

CBSLA.comFellow libertarians, we may be observing peak bureaucratic cruelty in Santa Fe Springs, California. City officials told Jessica Torres and Felix Miranda to destroy their backyard playset—a gift to their handicapped 10-year-old daughter from the Make-A-Wish-Foundation—because it is a "public nuisance," according to CBSLA.com. Young Tiffany suffers from seizures and can't play at the public park, so the Make-A-Wish-Foundation gifted her a personal playground. It sits in her backyard, on Miranda family property. Nevertheless, the city thinks it has the right to force the family to disassemble the playset. When Torres approached a city official, she was treated as courteously...

Eleven-year old Carl is a unique kid. So it’s only natural that his Make-A-Wish experience is as unique as he is. Carl has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), which makes him eligible for a wish from the Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington Foundation. It took Carl a whole year to come up with this detailed dream wish scenario: My wish was to be a World War II pilot stationed in Pearl Harbor that gets shot down and has to survive on a deserted island with the supplies that a World War II pilot would have. As part of Carl’s wish, he underwent...

Turns out, the Boise State Broncos are as good at granting wishes as winning football games. The Broncos and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho gave 12-year-old Stephen Kinsey of San Antonio a one-of-a-kind experience the past three days — one that took his mind off his cancer and the burglars who ransacked the family home last month. Stephen, who wanted to be a coach for a day at Boise State, spent Friday and Saturday with the Broncos. He led the team onto the field and was on the sidelines as the No. 2 Broncos whipped Hawaii 42-7 Saturday. Midway through...
