We have illegal immigrants living among us here in Texas. We like them and greatly appreciate their contribution. However, we should make a distinction between those who are here only to work, and those who are here to work and to integrate into American society. Here is my plan. February 8, 2012 – The Obama administration took its next step towards amnesty for illegal aliens by naming an advocate for illegal aliens and those concerned about immigration issues. The 2011 Operations Manual ICE Performance-Based National Detention Standards says that all illegal alien detainees shall be screened by a specially trained detention officer within 12 hours of their arrival at the detention facility.
