We have illegal immigrants living among us here in Texas. We like them and greatly appreciate their contribution. However, we should make a distinction between those who are here only to work, and those who are here to work and to integrate into American society. Here is my plan. Non U.S. citizens could apply for a Work Visa whether they reside in a foreign country or are already in America illegally—no distinction. To be accepted they must meet certain basic criteria of literacy and a clean record. Those who are accepted into the Work Visa program as illegal aliens would...

CNSNews.com) - Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) says he is working to craft an alternative version of the DREAM Act that would allow younger illegal aliens who came to the United States "through no fault of their own" to stay here legally and, if they wished, get in line to become a citizen. "There is nothing that prohibits them from getting citizenship,” Rubio told the Tampa Bay Times in an April 3 interview in which he explained his plan. “We just don't create a new pathway. The bottom line is they would have a visa of some sort and like they...

February 8, 2012 – The Obama administration took its next step towards amnesty for illegal aliens by naming an advocate for illegal aliens and those concerned about immigration issues. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the advocate will "serve as a point of contact for individuals, including those in immigration proceedings, NGOs and other community and advocacy groups, who have concerns, questions, recommendations or other issues they would like to raise." The agency said Andrew Lorenz-Strait will be the first advocate. They may as well title Lorenz-Strait the “Amnesty Czar” as that will be the ultimate goal of an administration...

(CNSNews.com) - Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the division the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responsible for enforcing the nation's immigration laws, will provide "hormone therapy" to illegal aliens it has detained who say they are transgender, according to the agency's operations manual for its detention facilities. The 2011 Operations Manual ICE Performance-Based National Detention Standards says that all illegal alien detainees shall be screened by a specially trained detention officer within 12 hours of their arrival at the detention facility. The operations manual specifically states that the "screening shall ... inquire into a transgender detainee's gender self-identification and history...

*snip* A police officer said (((Onyango))) Obama made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused his cruiser to crash into Obama's sport utility vehicle. Police said Obama registered 0.14 on a blood-alcohol test. The legal limit in Massachusetts is 0.08. A judge is expected to hear arguments Thursday on a motion to suppress statements he made to police and the test results. Immigration officials allege that Obama, originally from Kenya, violated a 1992 order to return to Kenya.

The utter stupidity, the utter hypocrisy, in these stories are mind-boggling. First we have Michelle Obama telling a kid that WE need to fix the fact that her mom doesn't have papers. First lady Michelle Obama told the child of an apparent illegal immigrant on Wednesday that immigration policy should be "fixed" so her mother could remain in the United States. During a trip to an elementary school in Silver Spring, Md., with the first lady of Mexico, Margarita Zavala, Obama took questions from one young girl who said that she had heard "that Barack Obama is taking everybody away...

The Central American countries will present next year to the U.S. an immigration reform proposal focused on comprehensive care for thousands of immigrants from the region, Salvadoran Foreign Ministry announced today. “For the first time Central America will have its own immigration reform instrument, which responds to the needs and aspirations of Central Americans living illegally in the U.S.,” said Vice Minister for Salvadorans abroad, Juan Jose Garcia. The initiative, led by El Salvador, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic with the support of Central American Integration System (SICA), is in “consultations” with Nicaragua and Costa Rica and seeks to add...

WASHINGTON – On the morning of Jan. 28, federal agents knocked on Shirley Tan's door, showed her a deportation letter and put her in handcuffs. "I was put into a van with two men in yellow jumpsuits and chains and searched like a criminal in a way I have only seen on television and in the movies," said Tan, 44, a housewife and mother from Pacifica. But Tan is still in the United States today, and she says there's only one reason why: "the great compassion" of California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein. People seeking to get around U.S. immigration laws...

With the help of unions, partisan politicians and pro-amnesty groups, the White House intends to push for back-door amnesty and bypass Congress altogether. “It makes sense to do now what the administration can do… it doesn’t have to go through Congress. It (amnesty) doesn’t have to go through the toxic political process,” said Ana Avendano of the AFL-CIO at a recent press conference. The AFL-CIO is one of the largest union representatives which include all the radio/broadcasters as well as the Hollywood crowd. The Obama Administration is making a three pronged effort to gain amnesty without bringing the always hot-button...

July 15, 2009 California is the biggest destination for those granted asylum Every year the federal government grants refugee and asylum status to "persons who have been persecuted or who have a well-founded fear of persecution" in their native countries.
