Tommy Chong, star of such films as Up in Smoke and until this week a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, was the #OneLuckyGuy on Fox News’ Outnumbered (for some reason) Wednesday, and while he was there he weighed in on issues like marijuana legalization (naturally), health care, and immigration. But when the issue of Obamacare “architect” Jonathan Gruber’s controversial comments came up, Chong surprised the show’s co-hosts by comparing it to another hot topic on Fox: Benghazi. Andrea Tantaros and Harris Faulkner were expressing outrage over Gruber’s comments and the Obama administration’s reaction to it when Chong decided...

The Manhattan lawyer who thinks the big problem with singles clubs is that women pay less to get in got the big brush off in court yesterday. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals rejected claims by self-proclaimed "anti-feminist lawyer" Roy Den Hollander that letting women past the velvet rope for free or half price on "Ladies Nights" violates the Constitution. The state has no control because "liquor licenses are not directed related to the pricing scheme" at the door, the court said. The court, with evident amusement, said it must rule against Den Hollander even though "without action on our...

Oh, what a night, but the feelin’ ain’t right … at least not in Minnesota. Reason TV picks its Nanny of the Month, and this time the culprit is in my back yard. James Kirkpatrick, the Commissioner of Human Rights in Minnesota, declared that Ladies Nights promotions discriminate against men and are therefore illegal in the state. So much for sophisticated mamas at the nightclubs:

"Ladies' Night" was a hit single for the band Kool and the Gang in the '80s, but now it's become the subject of a lawsuit. New York attorney Roy Den Hollander has filed a class action lawsuit against several Manhattan bars and clubs, alleging that their ladies' night practices are unconstitutional. Hollander charges that when they host ladies' night they are violating the 14th Amendment's guarantee of equal protection under the law. Hollander is seeking to be named class representative for all men charged more money or burdened by stricter time restraints than woman. He seeks nominal damages and an...

Orange County Judge Dismiss Case Against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim http://www.knx1070.com/pages/203493.php?contentType=4&contentId=304887 SANTA ANA, CA (AP) -- A judge has dismissed a lawsuit claiming the Angels discriminated against men by giving tote bags to women during a Mother's Day baseball game. Orange County Superior Court Judge Jonathan Cannon ruled Thursday that the giveaway was not biased against men and that the May 8, 2005, event was a way to honor mothers. The lawsuit, filed by Los Angeles psychologist Michael Cohn, claimed thousands of men and fans under age 18 were each entitled to $4,000 in damages because they were treated...

A California lawyer, denied a free cap at an Oakland A’s game because they were reserved for ladies, has filed suit against the team to put a stop to the practice. Alfred Rava calls such giveaways ``sex discrimination on steroids.” He is also suing the Los Angeles Angels for giving away tote bags to women only on Mother’s Day. When Rava attended the Oakland game in 2004, he said he asked for one of the caps that were being given out. ``The woman laughed at me and said, `No, these are only for females,’” Rava said. “I felt so hurt...

Oooh, This Could Lead to Dancing This has to be a classic case of mixed emotions--like watching your mother-in-law drive over a cliff in your Cadillac. I mean, how are you supposed to feel when WOMEN become victims of political correctness? It's supposed to be the other way round. On top of everything, this may have national and even worldwide consequences, since this is not your mother's civil rights movement. As far off as London, Paris, and Tel Aviv, people in the food and beverage business are in a state of fear and trembling at this illustration of (turnabout) Political...

David Gillespie may be an unlikely Rosa Parks, but we have to take our civil rights heroes where we find them. Mrs. Parks rebelled because, being black, she was told to ride in the back of an Alabama bus while whites got to sit up front. Mr. Gillespie could not tolerate paying a $5 cover price on ladies' night at a New Jersey bar while females were getting in free.

(KRT) - Sorry, Jersey girls. The Garden State's top civil rights official ruled yesterday that ladies nights are gender-based promotions that discriminate - against men. So from now on, girls who just wanna have fun will have to pay the same price for drinks and cover charges as the boys. Commercial interests do not override the "important social policy objective of eradicating discrimination," said Frank Vespa-Papaleo, director of the state Division on Civil Rights. Gov. Jim McGreevey criticized the decision, calling it "an overreaction that reflects a complete lack of common sense and good judgment." But the governor does not...
