<p>April 28, 2003 -- Authorities had located the remains of eight-months pregnant Laci Peterson - possibly wrapped in plastic and weighted down - on the ocean floor weeks before she and her baby washed up on shore, but a tanker apparently dislodged them before they could be recovered. "The waves came up, and we couldn't go down [in time]. I can't tell you the frustration we felt," Modesto, Calif., Police Chief Roy Wasden told the Oakland Tribune.</p>

<p>Scott Peterson had $10,000 in cash with him when he was arrested in connection with the deaths of his wife, Laci, and their unborn son, a law enforcement official said Saturday. The revelation could help explain authorities' concern that Peterson would flee, possibly to Mexico, before they could arrest him on Friday.</p>
