Zohran Mamdani has won the New York City mayor's race, CBS News projects.
Mamdani defeated Republican Curtis Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent.
Voter turnout surpassed 2 million, the first time that's happened since 1969. Early voting turnout set records.
Cuomo thanked his supporters, calling them "New York patriots." Most recent polling showed Mamdani with a lead in the race, although Cuomo had gained some ground.
President Trump endorsed Andrew Cuomo Monday night, saying New Yorkers "really had no choice."

Was the RNC National Leadership Team aware we had elections today? Seems we haven’t heard a peep out of them.
Laura Trump and Michael Whatley did a good job in 2024 but I am not so sure about the current leadership.

I’m glad Sliwa stayed in because he was the least awful of all of them by far. Even if Cuomo would have gotten all of Sliwas votes he still would have lost.

I know some wealthy people who have moved out of NYC but are still trying to sell their coops there. They will probably have a much harder time now.

Cuomo groping from behind but elderly voters who may have been able to help him died in nursing homes during COVID.
