Wow! What a great time we had Saturday night! The Democrats held their Jefferson Jackson Fundraiser at the Greater Richmond Convention Center with several Presidential Candidates in attendance. As Bush-bashing promised to be a central theme of the evening, three of us from the newly-formed Richmond Conservative Forum and Free Republic decided to counter them on the sidewalk. In attendance were Al, RCF's president, helmut 113 and Flora McDonald. We stood across the street from the convention center so as not to interfere with the Democrat activities but close enough to be seen. Al was resplendent in a black suit...

George W. Bush's days are numbered: John Kerry Kerry wins caucuses in two more states John Kerry secured two more victories on Feb. 7 in his race for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination by sweeping the caucuses held in the states of Michigan and Washington. That brings to nine the number of primaries or caucuses Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, has won so far, leaving his other five Democratic rivals far behind. Eleven states have held primaries or caucuses to date, with North Carolina Senator John Edwards and retired general Wesley Clark from Arkansas each claiming victory in one state....

A new poll showed Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts leading in Virginia as four of the Democratic candidates prepared to show their wares at a sold-out dinner in Richmond tonight. The Mason-Dixon opinion research poll taken for several news organizations in the state showed Kerry with 34 percentage points, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina with 25 points and retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark with 14 points. The rest of the candidates trailed badly, while 13 percent of the likely voters were undecided. A copy of the poll, taken at midweek, was made available to The Times-Dispatch yesterday. The margin...

RICHMOND, Va. -- Howard Dean will skip the Virginia Democratic Party's annual fund-raising gala Saturday on the eve of the state's presidential primary, the Dean campaign said Friday. The former Vermont governor decided to skip the only joint appearance with his three chief rivals for the nomination as he focuses his struggling campaign's scarce resources on a winning the Wisconsin primary. A loss there will end his candidacy, he told supporters. Dean's withdrawal from the Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner leaves Sens. John Kerry of Massachusetts, John Edwards of North Carolina and former Gen. Wesley Clark of Arkansas as the candidates...
