George W. Bush's days are numbered: John Kerry
Kerry wins caucuses in two more states
|
John Kerry secured two more victories on Feb. 7 in his race for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination by sweeping the caucuses held in the states of Michigan and Washington.
That brings to nine the number of primaries or caucuses Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, has won so far, leaving his other five Democratic rivals far behind.
Eleven states have held primaries or caucuses to date, with North Carolina Senator John Edwards and retired general Wesley Clark from Arkansas each claiming victory in one state. Former Vermont governor Howard Dean, the one-time front-runner, has failed to win in any state.
Preliminary results showed Kerry received 49 percent of the vote in Washington, followed by Dean with 30 percent. Kerry garnered 50 percent of the vote in Michigan, followed by Dean with17 percent and Edwards, 14 percent.
While Kerry was gaining momentum to extend his domination in the nomination contest, Dean suffered another major setback on Saturday, when one of the three unions that had endorsed his campaign withdrew its support.
Speaking at a rally before a Democratic dinner in Richmond, Va., on Saturday evening, Kerry hailed the results and moved to turn the discussion away from the Democratic presidential race to the contest with Mr. Bush this fall.
"In Michigan and Washington, a message is being sent - and it's the same message that was sent from Iowa, New Hampshire, to Missouri, to North Dakota, to New Mexico to Arizona," he said, "And it is the message that I am carrying to Virginia and to Tennessee, and the message is: George Bush's days are numbered."
In Michigan, with 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Kerry had 52 percent, while Dr. Dean had 17 percent, barely meeting the 15 percent threshold for qualifying for delegates. Mr. Edwards came in third with 14 percent.
In Washington, with 99 percent of the precincts counted, Kerry had 48 percent, compared with 30 percent for Dr. Dean.
In Michigan, state party leaders extended the closing time of the poll to 6 p.m. from 4 p.m. in Detroit after a last-minute shift of six caucus sites led to confusion across the city. Some advisers to Mr. Sharpton and Dr. Dean said the last-minute change had the effect of disenfranchising some minority voters, but Democratic leaders, in announcing the result, said they had confidence in the tally.

Yeah, John Kerry, the more liberal of Massachusset's senators, is really going to be able to compete in the Red Zone. Look for Bush to pick up Pennsylvania and New Mexico at a bare minimum.

So my question is:
When Kerry's adminstration does the "Black Hawk Down" Clintonite pullout in Iraq (as per the wishes of his followers), what do we call it?
Cowardice in the face of the enemy, or deliberate sabotage of vital United States interests (treason)?
WWOD? What Would Osama Do?
He'd pull the lever for Kerry in 2004.

If I were Kerry I think I would be worried about my days being numbered and not by George Bush......anyone remember Hillary wants to run for President in 2008.

Kerry will lose the entire South, including Arkansas and likely Florida.
George Will said this morning that, if that happens, he has to win every state Gore won. He cannot lose a single one.

George W. Bush's days are numbered: John KerryHe's right. As I see it, Bush has about 1790 days left in his Presidency.

Even KERRY himself knows he has no chance. Fifteen minutes of fame.

It's clear that conservatives are terrified of Kerry. Just read the forums here, and its obvious. What we need to do now is focus on (1) SUPPORTING PRESIDENT BUSH, (2) SPEAKING POINTS ABOUT WHY PRESIDENT BUSH IS GOOD FOR AMERICA.
Don't play their game - focus on the positive.

Numbered?
Gotta go with Kerry on this one......alas, that's true.....let's see, what is 365x4+1(for leap year) plus the number of days remaining in this first term? That's the number!

George Bush's days are numbered... Sounds like Kerry is planning to have him killed.
To: Dr. Marten
If Bush's days are numbered, a Kerry administration would place the country on a sprinters stopwatch.
To: Dr. Marten
Yes his days are numbered. 268 days until the election.
Then 4 more years, of course.

Don't even focus on the positive. That's not how elections are won. They are won with tactics, not policy.
I suggest it would be wise of FR to find ways to tactically win in November. Here are suggestions:
1) All Freepers who live in a state adjacent to a state "in play" and whose own state is safe, let's find ways to spend election day and maybe weeks prior working to help reelect Bush in that adjacent state. This may mean taking the day off to go drive GOTV vans to Veterans Hospitals or Homes in the adjacent state. The point being, the battle will be won in the battleground states and we need more of a presence there -- especially if the Deaniac imports decide to sign on with Kerry.
Now this won't be as fun as working in your own state. Most of us are from solid Bush states, and working in our own state would surround us with other pro Bush people and make the work a pleasure. But that's not how we'll win and winning matters. I live in Utah. I'm going to look into Nevada as a place to help. Nevada went Bush last time, but the margin was very close. If I were in southern Utah, I'd be looking hard at Arizona -- which looks like it might be in play. Or New Mexico.
So all you midwest Freepers, we are depending on you. Missouri is quite a prize.
2) That big Bush warchest. I fear too much will be spent on campaign workers and managers. Let's clamor for spending it all renting every single van in the country for a few days prior to and during election day. Let's use them to drive our own people to polls -- even if our own people could get there on their own. No reason not to use the money to make it difficult for the opposition to bribe people with donuts and cigs in the vans and then take them to the polls. Let's deny them the vans. Period.
3) Who owns the media centers in the big media markets? Let's get GOP ownership of these advertising conduits and boost the price to Kerry, and then take some of the money he has to pay and funnel it to the Bush campaign.
Other tactical ideas? Forget policy. That's not what this is about. How can we implement winning tactics with our money advantage?

Well that is a factual statement. George Bushes days ARE numbered. He has about 1,788 days left.

The troops that serve today are my younger brothers and sisters. I don't want them to have Hanoi Jane's Mr. Kerry as their Commander-in Chief. He will treat them like Mr. Clinton did and they don't for one second deserve that. I will do everthing in my power with my vote to keep Mr. Kerry from getting the door open!

When will the media people start asking Kerry if he has the confidence and courage of Bob Dole and resign from the Senate when he's the Dem. nominee?
The answer is obvious.
