Attorneys for a group of news organizations, including NPR, said in a legal filing on Tuesday that evidence used at the sentencing of a rioter charged in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol had "disappeared" from an online government platform. The missing evidence consists of nine video exhibits from the Justice Department's case against Glen Simon, who pleaded guilty to a charge of "Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds." Simon said as part of his plea that he pushed against police officers with a metal bike rack, stormed the U.S. Capitol and recorded...

In what is another massive victory for the administration of President Donald Trump, the FBI has acquiesced and given the names of every agent who was involved with the January 6 investigations to the Department of Justice. The FBI gave the names of the agents via a classified system so that they would not be identified publicly, acting Director Brian Driscoll said in an email which was obtained by FBI whistleblower Garret O’Boyle. “I want to be clear that as of now, we do not have information indicating the Department of Justice intends to disseminate these lists publicly, and they...

Judge Jia Cobb, a Biden appointee, ordered a pause on the release of the identities of the FBI employees involved in the January 6 cases and Trump investigations after a hearing on Thursday. The plaintiffs sought a temporary restraining order to prevent the Justice Department from identifying the names of the FBI employees. Lawyers for the plaintiffs argued publicly naming the employees would put people in danger.

The U.S. Mint is offering Americans a bronze medal to commemorate “United States Capitol Police and those who protected the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.” Clicking on the Mint’s “description” of what happened that day finds J6 protesters described as “a mob of insurrectionists.” The J6 commemorative medal / U.S. Mint Quick reminder: No J6 defendant was ever charged with “insurrection.” The coin/medal, is available in 1.5 or 3 inches in diameter and costs between $20 and $160. The Mint refers to the J6 medal as a “perfect gift for current and former police officers.” The description on the...

Now, we learn Biden has extended one final middle finger to the victims of J6 by pardoning all of the Capitol police officers who testified regarding the J6 protests. This means a full pardon to incompetent US Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd, who killed Air Force veteran and American war hero Ashli Babbitt. Biden, though, sees nothing wrong with pardoning a man many feel is guilty of cold-blooded murder. “Even when individuals have done nothing wrong-and in fact have done the right thing-and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being investigated or prosecuted can irreparably damage reputations and...

FBI leaders going full “we were just following orders” as accountability for turning the agency into a full-time Anti-Trump operation looms. ... Julie Kelly. = Expecting a bloodbath at FBI today and tomorrow. My guess is acting FBI director Brian Driscoll will be gone by this evening for defying a direct order seeking names of FBI employees—perhaps more than 6,000—involved in Jan 6 cases. Hard to see how James Dennehy, who runs the NY field office, keeps his job after sending defiant email to colleagues over the weekend promising to “dig in” and not step down or follow orders. The...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -FBI employees were ordered on Sunday to answer a questionnaire about any work they may have done on criminal cases related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, stoking fear about a fresh round of firings at the law enforcement agency. The list of questions in the memo, seen by Reuters, direct employees to give their job title, any role they played in the investigations into the Jan. 6 riot by supporters of President Donald Trump and whether they helped supervise such investigations.

The following is adapted from a talk delivered at a Hillsdale College luncheon in Anchorage, Alaska, on January 22, 2025. Just hours after his inauguration on January 20, President Trump pardoned more than 1,500 people convicted of offenses related to the events of January 6, 2021. He commuted the sentences of fourteen additional people whose cases for a full pardon are still under review.Earlier that morning, to less fanfare, President Biden had issued “preemptive pardons”—a type of presidential pardon with no historical precedent—to all the members and staff of the House Select Committee on January 6 and to all the...

The Trump administration is set to expand a purge of career law enforcement officials, with dozens of FBI agents who worked on January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack and Trump-related investigations as well as some supervisors being evaluated for possible removal as soon as the end of Friday, according to people briefed on the matter. The changes highlight how the new administration has moved quickly to deliver on President Donald Trump’s vow to strike back at the Justice Department and FBI that he claims have been weaponized against him. Trump has falsely accused agents of abuse in their court-ordered search...

You are directed to take all steps necessary to effectuate the termination of the employees identified in Appendix A, effective immediately. It is my understanding based on information provided by EOUSA and JMD that these employees are still within the probationary period associated with their hiring processes, and that they were initially hired as term employees at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia to support casework relating to events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. In an Executive Order issued on January 20, 2025, President Trump appropriately characterized that work...

Jackson Reffitt, the teen who reported his Trump-supporting father to authorities following the January 6 protests, is now complaining he feels “unsafe” after President Donald Trump’s pardons. Jackson testified against his own father, Guy Reffitt, accusing him of making threats and requesting a maximum sentence. He also accused the January 6 defendant of slowly losing himself over the years and falling “into a horrible community to find a place in this life.” Guy was accused of being a member of The Three Percenters and “lighting the match,” which they say triggered the protests. Despite Guy not setting foot on the...

Newly released J6 prisoner Jake Lang is happy to be free after four years in inhumane imprisonment without trial, but he also hopes Americans don’t forget the Jan. 6 prisoners pardoned by Donald Trump but not yet released. The infamous D.C. jail known as the Gulag was reportedly the only jail in America that refused to release some dozen of its prisoners right after Trump’s inauguration and J6 pardons, and it has since been reported that some of them have been moved to other jails as authorities allege state charges or other spurious reasons to postpone releasing them ... Lang...
