J6 committee's anti-Trump storyteller referred to DOJ for criminal charges: Report
The Blaze ^ | March 10, 2026 | Joseph Mackinnon

The Jan. 6 Select Committee's various improprieties and its prioritization of narrative over facts have been exposed. Nevertheless, key participants in the Democrat-led lawfare campaign have so far managed to evade consequence. That might soon change.

House Republicans have reportedly referred Jan. 6 committee star witness Cassidy Hutchinson to the Department of Justice for criminal charges.

A pair of sources reportedly familiar with recent developments told CNN that Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk (Ga.), the chairman of the Select Subcommittee to Investigate the Remaining Questions Surrounding Jan. 6, 2021, recently made the referral, which was co-signed by House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

The referral reportedly accuses Hutchinson — who milked her time in the limelight for a book deal — of lying to Congress in her public testimony in June 2022.

This is undoubtedly good news for President Donald Trump, who claimed Hutchinson "made up" stories about him during her testimony.

"Our great Secret Service has totally CRUSHED Cassidy Hutchinson’s (who I barely knew) made up (FAKE!) stories about me roughing up Secret Service Agents from the back seat of the Beast (Limo)," Trump noted in March 2024. "Has she now changed her testimony? Will she be prosecuted for what she did and said?"

Blaze News has reached out to the Department of Justice and Loudermilk's office for comment. CNN indicated that Hutchinson's current and former lawyers did not respond to multiple inquiries.

Loudermilk released a congressional report in March 2024 alleging that the Jan. 6 Select Committee — manned by outspoken critics of President Donald Trump — erased records; hid numerous transcribed interviews; failed to turn recordings over to GOP lawmakers; and suppressed evidence that failed to conform to Democrats' preferred narrative.

The report, penned by the House Administration Committee's oversight subpanel, also impeached Hutchinson's character and testimony.

Hutchinson, who served as assistant to Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows, sat for six transcribed interviews and one publicized hearing with the committee.

The report noted that on June 20, 2022, in her fourth transcribed interview with the Jan. 6 committee, Hutchinson told a previously unheard tale about how on January 6, 2021, Trump allegedly got into a scuffle with a Secret Service agent and attempted to wrest control of the presidential limousine after his speech at the Ellipse.

Hutchinson's allegations pertained to supposed incidents to which she was not an eyewitness.

The Jan. 6 committee didn't bother interviewing either of the two Secret Service agents referenced in Hutchinson's testimony who were actually present at the time of the alleged events or anyone else implicated prior to her testimony.

When the committee put questions to the USSS agents some four months after Hutchinson's testimony, they directly refuted the fundamentals of her story.

In December 2024, Loudermilk released another damning congressional report, this time alleging that:

former White House employee Alyssa Farah Griffin back-channeled with former Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo.), the vice chair of the Jan. 6 committee, to help Hutchinson change her story;

Hutchinson had secret conversations with Cheney without her attorney's knowledge; and

"Hutchinson committed perjury when she lied under oath to the Select Committee."

The democrats call perjurists, liars, wordsmiths, and supporting propagandists, "Solid", as in "our people on this, are solid".

They are doing this now with jury trainers. They train jurists how to avoid being identified as biased, and to wreck any grand jury or trial that could harm leftists in their long March.

She will not be convicted of anything. You can’t prove that she did not overhear anything. She is not saying saw Trump in the car. She is only hearing that she over heard two people talking. And they said that Trump leaned forward and grabbed the driver. You can’t prove that. She doesn’t even know the names of the people talking. This is total hearsay. She is not going to court. She is not even going to stand trial. We are being played here.

According to Hutchinson’s LinkedIn page, she studied political science and American studies at Christopher Newport University, a public school in Virginia. Hutchinson’s page also follows St Andrew’s Episcopal school, in Austin, Texas.

While in college, Hutchinson interned at the Trump White House. In October 2018, she told her student newspaper she was “brought to tears when I received the email that I had been selected to participate”, and called the internship “an honor and a tremendous growing experience”.

Hutchinson also interned for two powerful figures on the hard right of a hard-right party: Steve Scalise, the House Republican whip, and the Texas senator Ted Cruz.

According to the Washington Post, Hutchinson recently switched lawyers, swapping a former Trump White House ethics lawyer for an attorney with links to Jeff Sessions, the former Alabama senator who became the attorney general Trump fired in 2018.

That move, the Post said, indicated a new willingness to cooperate with the January 6 committee.

Hutchinson’s former boss, Meadows, first flirted with cooperating with the committee then refused to do so. The committee referred him to the Department of Justice (DoJ), for criminal contempt of Congress. The DoJ declined to pursue charges.

In the absence of testimony from Meadows, Hutchinson’s voice has come to the fore in a series of explosive hearings.

Earlier this month, Norm Eisen, a former ethics tsar in the Obama White House, told the Post: “Cassidy Hutchinson might turn out to be the next John Dean.”

Cassidy Hutchinson is not going to go to trial.

She is a loser who is the classic weak link in the Jan 6 fraudulent witch hunt .

She was bribed by the J6 Committee, Liz Cheney and the Democrats to commit perjury in return for media stardom and a lucrative book deal - which we all know is the modern tool used to bribe people for political favors

She was an insider to the fraud and she will turn states evidence on the J6 hoax and the Democrat fraud machine in a NY minute.

--- Hutchinson had secret conversations with Cheney without her attorney's knowledge; and "Hutchinson committed perjury when she lied under oath to the Select Committee."

One need recall that the Cheneys have been very vociferous in their opposition to President Trump.

"Cheney was part of a small group of prominent Republicans who do not support Trump. He said he voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

" 'There has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,' Cheney said ahead of the 2024 election."

Source: What did Dick Cheney think of Trump? The late VP was a critic of the president USA Today, 4 November 2025.

Clear enough rhetoric? No "greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump."

Every statement you put up I 100% agree with except the last. She will not ever turn states evidence. She will be told that she will be acquitted at trial, because the Democrats, the intelligence groups that have supported them, the NGO’s, and George Soros will rig the Jury. She doesn’t have to do anything, and her ‘legal fees’ will be paid off later.

To do what she did, person would have to be clinically deranged, as in “sick in the head”.

Deaths will occur before any of these leftist animals make it to a criminal trial. The stakes of evidentiary exposure to the implication of the state itself are way too high.

Bread and circuses for everyone!

Congressional hearings for everyone! Nasty worded letters for everyone! Kabuki theater for everyone!

Become a Congressman and you can make you and your family members multi-millionaires - because you can.

Corruption and fraud abound in our government and nation - and no person of any stature goes to jail! Even when arrested, activist and politicized judges thwart justice.

Ther elite and power-brokers paraphrase Leona Helmsley's famous response where she told her assistant: "We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes." Applying this to the broader category of justice, government elites would say, "We're not held accountable for our crimes. Only the little people pay for their crimes."

Ok - I'm done with with my rant. Carry on!
