Stop me if you've heard this one before: the WNBA has fined Sophie Cuningham for publicly criticizing the league's officiating. The Indiana Fever guard revealed on Tuesday's episode of her Show Me Something podcast that she has received a third fine from the WNBA after she suggested that Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers receives special treatment from refs. "I’m officially 3-for-3 on being fined by the WNBA," Cunningham said. "They didn’t like my comments on Paige Bueckers." The comments came during last week's episode, right after Bueckers and the Wings beat the Fever in Indiana.

Caitlin Clark put the rest of the WNBA on notice as she returned to the Indiana Fever lineup with a vengeance and upended the New York Liberty’s undefeated streak on Saturday night. Clark’s 32-point victory in the 102-88 win gave Indiana its fifth win of the season. Clark made seven 3-pointers, including three in a 38-second span that even shocked former Liberty star Rebecca Lobo. The Basketball Hall of Famer talked about Clark’s performance and what she means to WNBA viewership as the league saw numbers dwindle a bit in her absence. "It means a lot more people are paying...

The WNBA continues to deny OutKick a credential to cover Atlanta Dream games. The team and league claim they can't accommodate our requests due to "very limited space." We appreciate the emphasis on "very." Still, no one actually believes the WNBA can't find the "space" for us to cover a regular-season game involving the Dream and Connecticut Sun. WNBA games in June are hardly the Super Bowl, where reporters from all across the country clamor for access. In fact, the Sun granted several media credentials to OutKick last year, including a playoff game featuring the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark....

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham was on the receiving end of some brutal treatment by the Washington Mystics in the first preseason game of her WNBA season. The Fever played without star Caitlin Clark, who was absent due to a minor injury that was described as 'a little tightness' in her left leg. So it was Cunningham that led the way for Indiana. However, she didn't do so without a bit of bruising. In the second quarter, Cunningham was fighting for a rebound with Mystics rookie Kiki Iriafen. Iriafen had her arm wrapped around Cunningham's torso and then flung her...
  • This Is Big: Worthless Indiana Fever Coach Christie Sides Is Fired – Ran WNBA Star Caitlin Clark Into the Ground and Knew Absolutely Nothing About Coaching B-Ball

The Indiana Fever on Sunday announced that they have “parted ways” with Coach Christie Sides – probably the most worthless coach in the history of basketball. ... it wasn’t her coaching style that elevated the team—it was Caitlin Clark’s undeniable star power. ... Sides coached like a deli worker mixing potato salad. She had no idea what she was doing. ... Despite Coach Sides, Caitlin Clark had the most spectacular season as a rookie in the history of the WNBA. Clark broke the WNBA assist record and led the league in 3-point shots – in her rookie year. ... This...

(NewsNation) — USA Today columnist Christine Brennan is the target of the WNBA Players’ Association over a question Brennan posed over the eye poke that rookie star Caitlin Clark suffered in a playoff game. “USA Today Sports should explain why a reporter with clear bias and ulterior motives was assigned to cover the league,” said WNBA Players’ Association executive director Terri Carmichael Jackson in a statement, which also called on USA Today to discipline Brennan. At issue are the questions Brennan posed to Connecticut Sun player DiJonai Carrington the day after Carrington gave Clark a black eye during the first...
  • Caitlin Clark is left with a BLACK EYE after brutal poke in face from WNBA rival

Caitlin Clark took a brutal poke to the face in her WNBA playoff debut on Sunday night - leaving the Indiana Fever rookie with a black eye. Clark's first playoff appearance up in the big leagues did not go to plan as the Fever slumped to a 93-69 defeat against the Connecticut Sun. And not only did she struggle in the game - with her return of 11 points a lot lower than she's become accustomed to this season - but the 22-year-old was also left rolling around on the floor in pain early on after being struck in the...
  • Entire Indiana Fever Team Kneels During Anthem Before Playoff Game

The latest round of athlete protests during the playing of the national anthem came Wednesday against the backdrop of recent fatal shootings of black men by the police in Tulsa, Okla., and Charlotte, N.C. Before a win-or-go-home W.N.B.A. playoff game against the Phoenix Mercury in Indianapolis on Wednesday, every Indiana Fever player knelt and linked arms as the national anthem played. They were joined by two Mercury players, Mistie Bass and Kelsey Bone. The other Mercury players remained standing. Even given the high stakes of the game, Fever Coach Stephanie White told her players that she had been proud to...
