When will we stop lowering our flag? I drove into work this morning, and AGAIN the flags are lowered. I see DJT has ordered it again, this time for the victims of the bar shooting. (No, it is NOT for Armistice/Veteran's Day, which means again BTW it will be down at least on Sunday.) Not a week goes by our US flag is not prostrate anymore. WADR, I appreciate the grief over yet another mass murder, but this is NOT what lowering the flag is for. I am sick of seeing them lowered; it symbolizes we are constantly in mourning...

NEW YORK (AP) -- Nearly every day, somewhere in the country, the Stars and Stripes was lowered to half-staff last year in one of the most significant official gestures of mourning and respect, an Associated Press analysis found. The centuries-old practice can be a visible, public answer to extraordinary loss, as when more than four dozen people were killed last month at a gay nightclub in Florida.

WASHINGTON — The White House provided no explanation Monday amid questions over why the president had not ordered flags across the nation to half-staff in the wake of a Chattanooga, Tenn., shooting that killed five servicemembers. Spokesman Josh Earnest said President Barack Obama offered condolences last week and may speak to veterans at VFW conference Tuesday about the shooting, but he had no further comment. Chattanooga aftermath: Why do major television networks continue to get away with mollycoddling murdering radical terrorists in the very wake of their evil carnage? Within four days of the attack that claimed the lives of four US Marines and a Navy sailors slaughtered in the Chattanooga shooting spree, ABC is portraying poor Mohammod Abdulazeez—not as a radical Islamic terrorist—but as a “disturbed, suicidal young man using drugs, preparing for bankruptcy and facing an appearance in criminal court”. This Sunday marks three days since an Islamist gunman opened fire Thursday on military facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee, killing five unarmed servicemen and wounding a policeman. President Barack Obama still has not ordered the lowering of the U.S. flag to half-staff at the White House and federal properties as a sign of respect and mourning for those killed, even though he (and former President George W. Bush) did so for previous mass killings by lone gunmen. In contrast it was only a matter of hours after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage last month before Obama bathed the White House...
