Sen. Cory Booker used a Bible verse to attack U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his supporters Tuesday, claiming they are “complicit in evil.” Booker, a pro-abortion Democrat from New Jersey, held a press conference Tuesday with U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, of Massachusetts, and several liberal religious leaders, according to The Blaze. Warren also used the Bible to attack Kavanaugh, a conservative justice who currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Claiming the moral high ground, Booker said: “In a moral moment there is no bystanders. You are either complicit in the evil, you...

We all have our own views on separation of church and state. Some people think that the Constitution simply forbids the establishment of a Church of America. Others hold that any hint of religious principle must be excluded from the public arena. Where does Senator Bernie Sanders stand, and how does it affect his official actions? Although I am by no means an expert in matters of religion, based on a recent Senate hearing, I think I know enough to assert that Senator Sanders knows just enough about Christian doctrine (and in my opinion, about any religion, including his own)...

It has become fashionable in some Catholic quarters these days to question where there are now or will ever be any souls populating hell. Hell, it is taught, is a "real possibility," but whether there are any souls actually there, or whether there will ever be any souls there, is unknown to us.It is, of course, true that hell is a "real possibility" for each of us. And that is a sobering thought. But it is also true that souls are actually in hell now, and will be for all eternity. This is a teaching of our Catholic Faith.

Recent years have provided plenty of church scandals, but an unlikely one has occurred in the Bible belt. A prominent Tulsa, Okla., minister was scandalized not by sex or embezzlement, but by his belief in hell. When Carlton Pearson began wondering if modern believers still need a medieval pit of fire, it cost him his congregation. Watch "Hell: Our Fear and Fascination" Friday on a special "20/20" at 10 p.m. EDT He shared pulpits with Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. He counseled presidents at the White House. And after the Oklahoma City bombing, he was called to lead the grieving...

To the east and south of the Old City of Jerusalem is a deep gash in the landscape. It is identified as the Hinnom Valley. Today it is a lush area lending itself to picnics, outdoor concerts, and public events. However, to ancients it was known as the valley of the sons of Hinnom and later the Valley of Topheth. In the seventh century BCE it became Gehenna, a designation synonymous with hell, the place of burning. Most notorious in the history of Hinnom is the practice of child sacrifice – placing infants and children in the fire to appease...

QUESTION: Gehenna is not hell, is it? It was a valley where outcasts, thieves and infected people were thrown when they died. The Bible refers to "Gehenna" as the place of death and pain. The word "hell", as you so often use, where eternal pain and fire awaits is actually "Gehenna." If you have read a bible written before 1400, you will notice a very important thing: "HELL" is missing. Instead it says "Gehenna." There is no fire breathing eternal pain demon hell!! In fact YOU are commiting a sin here. Telling people, or lying to people about hell, when...
