Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast of CSI in a potentially recurring role, a CBS rep confirmed. Sackhoff will play Detective Reed, a smart investigator who doesn't do well with sensitivity. Her first episode is slated to air during November sweeps, according to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news. Sackhoff was reportedly close to joining the veteran CBS procedural in 2008 when originating cast member Jorja Fox left the series. The producers, however, went another route, and Fox has since returned to the show on a recurring basis.

Once upon a time, in what used to be a far away land called Hollywood (but is now a state of mind and everywhere), a young actor was handed a script and asked to bring to life a character called Starbuck. I am that actor. The script was called “Battlestar Galactica.”

Battlestar Galactica is nearing the end of its run on television and it seems natural that someone out there might consider transitioning this thing to the big screen, especially considering the show’s rampant popularity among both fans and critics. So HR reports that Universal Pictures is working on a Battlestar movie. Except they aren’t using the version you saw on TV as the film’s basis. Nope, instead they’ve hired Glen Larson, the guy responsible for the original, extremely cheesy 80s version to make the film. Larson has had very little to do with the new, much more popular version of...

Set 50 years before the events in Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families--the Graystones and the Adamas--as they grow, compete and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies, a society recognizably close to our own. Enmeshed in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the...

As the Internet continues to make significant strides in gaining respectability among mainstream media, more and more attention has been focused on the true power of the World Wide Web. Some of that power was felt just a couple weeks ago when Web-savvy viewers of the CBS series "Jericho" convinced the network they were not paying enough attention to how the show was being distributed through non-traditional means -- you know, the Internet -- and in the end, had vastly miscalculated the audience for the show. On top of that, the campaign to organize the "Save Jericho" campaign came almost...

Ronald D. Moore, executive producer of SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica, told fans that the upcoming third season of the hit SF series could see some fatalities among the characters. Not all of our friends are going to make it all the way." Moore declined to be specific, but said that the show's writers have finished breaking the story arc for the end of the upcoming...

The latest issue of DreamWatch features an interview with actor Richard Hatch, who played Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica TV Series and now plays Tom Zarek in the Galactica remake. Hatch talked about how he continues to feel that a continuation of the original series would have been just as successful as the Ronald D. Moore's re-imagining. "I don't think a continuation would have been any less successful than a re-imagining," he stated firmly. "A continuation would have evolved the original show: it would have updated the Cylons, brought new characters in and gone into equally provocative areas....
