Considering what’s going to happen next week, I could really relate to the way the survivors were feeling.

Very, very impressive.

This show looks like it could go down in history as one of the best SF shows of all time.

As long as they don’t boink the ending, they’re in.

So the 13th tribe were Cylons...

And if you stop to think about you'll realize that the Colonials themselves are also Cylons. All of them.

So how was it that they are not affected by the same radiation as the known human-type Cylons were?

When it was revealed that he was a Cylon, I had wondered what happened to the real Saul Tigh.

Of course, now that human-type Cylons have been around longer than the characters (and the audience) thought they were...

Different models, some made to function more realistically.

My theory I started last night was just this, they are all some form of Cylon. I bet that several thousand years earlier, the earth was doomed from the effects of nuclear war. Many humans got together and programmed their collective consciousness and memories into Cylon type robots. Those robots where sent to the stars to keep their memory alive. Over centuries, the Cylons forgot who they where, but there where innate programming methods in them, such as memories from their models, the need to reproduce. They 'evolved' over time to believe they where human and to even function as human. The memories they have end up being a fate as it guides their actions, thus, what has happened before will happen again, over and over.

They were all Windows 98 Cylons. The later Cylonsd were all Active Directory and thus susceptible to things that didn’t bother previous generations.

I'm glad that it's an enjoyable show for so many.

Unfortunately, I find it unwatchable.

I scanned through it last night, and stayed to watch for a few minutes (about as long as I've ever been able to stay).

As is usually the case, it seemed disjointed and jumpily moving from scene to scene, all the while showing facial closeups of the characters, making me feel like the camera was about to fly up their noses.

After about the tenth time of viewing Mz. President's face at an almost microscopic level, and seeing what was apparently supposed to be “heavy thinking” going on, I sighed and hit the remote.

Oh well, guess its just not my cup of tea.

Why bother with BSG it's a confusing post modern redo of St. Augustine's City of God, a manuscript which attempted to explain to Christendom why the western Roman Empire fell apart despite it's wholesale conversion to the one true faith.

Well, I confess this might be quite a stretch. Maybe using the pseudo-religiosity of the TV show "Lost" and drawing anything serious out of it is a senseless exercise too! Well, we can all agree that's true!

Let's examine what the writers of the series are intimating about people of faith in general.

First, Madame President is crying her eyes out as she is slowly burning holy scripture because the things she thought important didn't pan out. Well what gives? The wider message to the audience is that "the gods" are dead, so by extension Our God Jesus Christ is also dead and a waste of time? BTW, the Holy Bible should also be burnt, its false and offensive to the real heroes of TV. By extension we should also follow through and heroically break free of the bedrock traditions and believe hells great lie that Jesus is dead and our faith is a lie. Also, when we conclude that there are no rules to this life. All life is tenuous, pointless and cruel. There is no eternal rest, the truth behind life is pointlessness. We must accept that this is all there is and we have nothing else to expect. Life is without joy or contentment. We should all begin this new TV season by burning our Bibles too.

Second, all of the characters are shown locating some item from their ancient past and having flashbacks that result in dropping their commitment to "the gods" Loosing your faith is all but inevitable for us too.

Third, the show is mocking the prophetic importance of scripture. It's a post modern emparitive. This period of time in our human history is full of prophetic importance to all of us! Every major world religion is expecting something special coming soon! One Hint, its not on TV

Fourth, take your life because they conclude that suicide is painless. Maybe the bloggers over on the Big Hollywood website can draw some more conclusions.

Finally, watching TV is a huge waste of time unless you have a strong stomach and a great deal of popcorn.

I’m not buying that the 13th tribe were Cylons nor am I believing that the 12th model was actually Ellen Tighe.

I think that it will turn out that the entirety of ‘humanity’ were Cylon offspring and that Starbuck is the 12th model.

But I have to admit that I’ve gotten frakking addicted to watching that show. I got in at the third season and had to go back and watch the first two on DVD. Great story lines.

I am actually surprised that they didn’t win an Emmy/Oscar/Whatever for the episode they did on Occupied Caprica where they were planning suicide bombings of the new Cylon controlled human police force. You could see they were trying to show both sides of the Palestinian/Israeli debate and the bombings there without making it political or justifying killing innocent lives. But it was still a brilliantly written episode.

And considering the budget, it’s kinda shocking that they do what they do and yet Hollywood movie studios blow $100M on special effect at the drop of a hat and still turn out crap.
