Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that former President Joe Biden should have dropped out of the 2024 presidential race earlier so Democrats could have had a primary. Host Kristen Welker said, “Senator, would the party have had a better chance at winning in 2024 had President Biden dropped out sooner?” Klobuchar said, “You know, everything we look at in a rear-view mirror after you lose an election. Yes, we would have been served better by a primary, but we are where we are. We’re not on the History Channel right now, and I believe...

Friday, during an appearance on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had turned down two earlier opportunities to sign a proposed minerals deal with the United States. According to Bessent, Zelensky was given chances in Kyiv by him once in Munich with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Friday’s dust-up with President Donald Trump was his third chance. “[I] know you had a meeting scheduled — an economic meeting scheduled a few weeks back with President Zelensky,” host Laura Ingraham said. “And tell us about his arrival and punctuality or lack thereof and seemed...

During an interview with “PBS NewsHour” on Tuesday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas defended President Joe Biden waiting to take executive action on the border in light of criticism from Deputy Director and Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director of ICE P.J. Lechleitner by stating that if Biden had acted earlier, “it would be litigated earlier and the outcome is still uncertain.” Co-host Amna Nawaz asked, “President Biden also didn’t take new executive action until June of last year, and that action has now resulted in, what? A 60% drop in encounters at the U.S. southern border. I’m...

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) argued that President Joe Biden and the Biden administration “needed to do more earlier” to combat inflation. She added, “I think, on inflation, the president and the administration needed to do more earlier. That’s why I’ve been pushing for things like suspending the gas tax, making sure that they’re releasing more oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves. We need to work to lower prescription drug costs and work on things like childcare costs. And I believe the president understands what’s at stake with the Alito draft opinion. And...

Lesley Weaver, a spokeswoman for the district, said school officials can’t release any information about the 18-year-old sister’s episode because the Sudanese parents won’t sign the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, The school has already sent the form to the immigrant Sudanese parents, but they won’t sign it, she said. University of California, Davis, researchers studying the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus, formerly referred to as "swine flu," have identified a group of immunologically important sites on the virus that are also present in seasonal flu viruses that have been circulating for years. These molecular sites appear to result in some level of immunity to the new virus in people who were exposed to the earlier influenza viruses. More than a dozen structural sites, or epitopes, in the virus may explain why many people over the age of 60, who were likely exposed to similar viruses earlier in life, carry antibodies...

This is really hysterical, folks, and definitely requires all drinking vessels be properly stowed before continuing. Just days before Rush Limbaugh was attacked by a number of press outlets for discussing "phony soldiers" on the air, ABC's Brian Ross did a segment on "World News with Charles Gibson" dealing with "phony heroes...scam artists...posing as the war heroes they never were, claiming credit for acts of courage in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Egypt Bombings Linked to Earlier Attacks Wednesday April 26, 2006 11:31 PM By WILLA THAYER Associated Press Writer CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Two suicide attackers targeting international peacekeepers and police blew themselves up Wednesday, two days after nearly simultaneous bombings killed at least 21 people at a resort in the Sinai Peninula. Egyptian Interior Minister Habib el-Adly said all the blasts this week were linked to terror attacks against Sinai resorts last year and in 2004. ``The information we have indicates that (the perpetrators) are Sinai Bedouin, and the latest operations are linked to the previous attacks,'' el-Adly told state...

Bird flu may have been brought into UK earlier than thought By Roger Highfield, Science Editor (Filed: 25/10/2005) The possibility that bird flu could already be present in Britain is being studied by Government vets who are investigating whether the potentially lethal strain contaminated a quarantine "facility" in Essex much earlier than thought. As vets investigated how H5N1 influenza came to infect a parrot from South America, which is unaffected by this strain, the European Union, the world's biggest importer of wildfowl, said it was ready to propose a temporary ban on imports. The H5N1 virus - which has only...

Bill Cosby says he should have chosen his words more carefully, but the message he's been heavily criticized for remains the same: African-Americans and all ``lower economic'' people must embrace education and take responsibility for their lives. ``Victims, get up if you can. Get your family together and stop blaming whatever,'' Cosby told a crowd of more than 3,000 gathered Thursday night at San Jose State University. In kicking off the school's three-day Read-2-Lead Classic that's designed to promote literacy, the 67-year-old comedian refined the controversial remarks he made in May -- mocking lower-income African-Americans for ``not holding up their...

LONDON (Reuters) - A new screening technique being developed by scientists in England may help turn the tables on breast cancer by identifying tumors far earlier. Breast cancer is one of the biggest killers of women across the world, accounting for more than 43,000 deaths a year in the United States and 13,000 in Britain alone. As with all cancers, early detection is key to enhanced survival rates. Currently mammograms can only detect tumors when they have grown to between 10 and 12 millimeters across, but New Scientist magazine reported that a technique being developed at University College London can...
