  • Plouffe: Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are a problem for GOP

    09/05/2010 8:58:07 AM PDT · by Sub-Driver · 127 replies
Plouffe: Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are a problem for GOP President Barack Obama's political adviser, David Plouffe, on Sunday called Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin the leaders of the Republican party — and also a "problem" for the GOP in this fall's elections and beyond. Plouffe emphasized the "intolerance" and "extremism" of the tea party and right wing of Republican party as both a short-term and long-term electoral problem for the moderate GOP, citing their attacks even on conservative senators such as Tom Coburn of Oklahoma as an example of how narrowly they have tailored their messaging and...

It wasn't enough for former President Jimmy Carter to falsely accuse critics of Barack Obama of being racists; now he's added a blood libel. Carter reiterated his belief that all disagreements with Obama are "based on the fact that he is a black man" Tuesday. Last night MSNBC's Keith Olbermann thanked Carter for rendering this "service" during a forum in Atlanta, where Carter said: The outbursts that we see of this scatalogical language -- the sign that I saw on television last night "We should bury Obama with Kennedy," for instance (audible gasps in the audience)...Those kind of things are...
  • Max Cleland add run by Saxby Chambliss

I got tired about hearing how bad this ad was and how unfair it was. Bill Clinton was wagging his finger again about it in defense of the MoveOn.org General Betray Us ad so I decided to see if it's on line. YouTube had it and it's really not that bad. It doesn't question his patriotism at all nor does it compare Cleland to Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein. It did question his leadership and gave specific votes to back up his commitment to supporting the governments actions as opposed to what he was saying to voters. The YouTube link...

By Michael P. Canzoneri Saddam Hussein’s regime has fallen. Resistance in Iraq is sporadic. Those fighting against the winds of change are terrorists, foreign national heeding the Iraqi regime’s call for martyrdom, and regime loyalists who will most likely be held responsible for crimes against humanity. This is a victory for all Americans, not just Republicans but Democrats as well. We have protected ourselves and others against a terrorist whose only limitation was his twisted imagination. We should hold our heads up high, waive Old Glory, and contemplate what could have happened if we would have left Saddam in power....

<p>ALBANY — The records - including census and voting reports, title searches, McCall's birth certificate and his parents' marriage license - show that the state comptroller grew up in a series of privately owned multifamily homes in what was once a racially mixed, black and Jewish area of the Roxbury section of Boston.</p>
  • Social Security memo gives GOP smoking gun

<p>Republicans have obtained a congressional staff memo they say proves that Democrats want to use Social Security for scare tactics, not serious debate.</p> <p>The memo, mistakenly sent by e-mail to a Republican staff member on Capitol Hill, contains an apparent draft opinion piece on Social Security and reaction from staffers in the office of Rep. Marcy Kaptur, Ohio Democrat. The memo argues that President Bush and Republicans want to "privatize" Social Security, which the author likens to "corporate gambling."</p>
