Classical theory may not care where the steel mills, chip foundries, shipyards, research labs, aircraft plants, oil fields, and supply chains are, but the real world of power politics does. I spent most of my time during 20 years in Washington, D.C. working in a bipartisan manner on trade policy with the aim of keeping here, then bringing back, strategic industries. There was then a coalition of national security Republicans (on my side of the aisle) and labor union Democrats. Democrats did not want to lose the middle-class blue-collar jobs when factories closed. Republicans did not want to lose the...

They’re deep thinkers. Mayor Eric Adams copped to believing the “deep state” is real this week — echoing President Trump and the MAGA movement. “I don’t want to sound conspiracy theory, but there’s a permanent government,” Adams told comedian Andrew Schulz on the “Flagrant Podcast” Wednesday. “There are people that see presidents and mayors come and go. Their attitudes will wait you out.” The admittedly tin foil hat stance from Adams came on the same day a judge dismissed the federal corruption case that has dogged him since September.

A single Republican senator — Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) — voted against the nomination of Harmeet Dhillon to serve as assistant attorney general, veering away from the rest of her GOP colleagues who voted in favor. After her nomination in December, lawmakers finally held a formal vote Thursday and Dhillon was approved in a 52-45 vote. However, Murkowski opposed the nomination and sided with Democrats. President Donald Trump announced in December the nomination of Dhillon to work as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Justice. “Throughout her career, Harmeet has stood up consistently to protect our...

London’s Metro Police charged outspoken Trump supporter, comedian and actor Russell Brand with rape, sexual assault and indecent assault. The alleged assaults from four different women go back to 1999. “The charges were issued against the comedian on Friday, according to a press release from police. The charges include one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape and two counts of sexual assault,” Fox News reported. Russell Brand has denied the allegations and said the interactions were all “consensual.”

The Pentagon’s Acting Inspector General announced Thursday that he is reviewing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s use of an encrypted messaging app to discuss a military strike against Houthi militants in Yemen, last month. Although the March 15 military operation was executed flawlessly, fallout over what has been dubbed “SignalGate” has continued unabated, fueled largely by Democrats in Congress who have been agitating tirelessly for Hegseth to step down. On March 25, left-wing lawfare group American Oversight filed a lawsuit against Hegseth and the other Trump officials who were in the chat, alleging that they violated record retention laws. That case...

After you finish this blog, you’ll be asking the million-dollar question: Why is Chief Justice John Roberts hanging out with the Deep State’s #1 color revolution architect? Turns out the left’s favorite “Republican” has some very interesting buddies. According to Norm Eisen—the man who practically wrote the Deep State’s playbook on color revolutions, all things anti-Trump, and lawfare in the US—he and Chief Justice John Roberts are not only good pals, but they even spent a week together in the Czech Republic. According to Norm, the two BFFs were there working on “American rule of law” issues. Hmm… Norm was...

The fight against what Prime Minister Netanyahu has taken to calling Israel’s “deep state” is now in full swing. It reached a climax on Thursday, March 20, late in the evening, when the cabinet unanimously voted to dismiss Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet—the country’s domestic security service. The termination is to take effect on the earlier of two dates: April 10, or when a replacement is found. Bar is not going down without a fight, however, and has retaliated by stepping up an investigation against the prime minister’s staff. Bar’s removal is long overdue. For starters, he...

MOSCOW (AP) - Russia's defense minister has revealed that two senior Kremlin officials served in military intelligence - underscoring the clout of security service veterans in the administration of President Vladimir Putin. Sergei Ivanov said that Putin's envoy to southern Russia, Dmitry Kozak, and a deputy Kremlin chief of staff, Vladislav Surkov, are both veterans of the Russian military General Staff's Main Intelligence Directorate, known by its Russian acronym GRU. "I know two well-known people who served their military conscription terms in GRU's Spetsnaz (special forces) - Dmitry Nikolayevich Kozak and Vladislav Yuriyevich Surkov," Ivanov told Rossiya state television late...

While numerous federal district court judges have issued ill-conceived restraining orders against the administration, I have long believed that it will prevail in its efforts to place control of the state in the hands of the elected executive, away from the deep state bureaucracy and its black-robed judicial allies. As the litigation of these matters proceeds, I think my belief will be justified. We will return to a constitutional republican form of government. For a day-to-day look at the progress of these multiple cases, I urge you to go to X and follow Professor Margot Cleveland, who is (bless...

At this point, the left isn’t even trying to hide their lawfare. Judge James Boasberg—the Deep State loyalist and rent-a-gavel—has now been handed his fourth Trump-related case. ... And we’re supposed to believe that this is just a coincidence? No. The left’s shameless weaponization of the judiciary has moved from subtle plots and plans to straight-up Soviet Union-type chess moves. Judge Boasberg is no longer pretending to be impartial—he’s the go-to hitman for the Deep State regime, and he’s happily rubber-stamping whatever political prosecution the DC Swamp throws his way. And these power players couldn’t care less that the American...

Marine Le Pen, the leader of the far-right French National Rally party, has been found guilty in an embezzlement case that could see her banned from running for office. Ms Le Pen and 24 other officials from National Rally were accused of diverting millions of euros from the European Parliament to pay for party staff. The money was meant to be used to pay for EU aides but instead was used to pay staff working for the French party. The defendants denied any wrongdoing. Prosecutors pressed for Ms Le Pen to be banned from running from office for five years,...

* * * A key component of the Trump plan to restore the separation of powers away from the deep state has been the creation of DOGE. If you haven’t yet seen it, here’s the remarkable video of Bret Baier’s interview of Musk and members of his team who are sacrificing so much to reduce federal waste and fraud and update archaic computer and accounting schemes which have made it near impossible for cabinet members and the president to see where the money allocated has been going and why. We have been living , it seems, in a make-believe world...

James Boasberg isn’t just some random DC judge—he’s the Deep State’s go-to gavel. He’s a loyal foot soldier in the left’s lawfare machine. When the Swamp needs a ruling to punish the right and protect their own, Boasberg always delivers. And nowhere is that more obvious than in the case of the very mysterious character Ray Epps. ... After Epps was finally charged—with a single count of disorderly conduct—he was rewarded with a wrist slap from Boasberg: one year of probation. No jail. No lectures. No talk about mobs or responsibility. Just a quiet walk out the back door.....

Cybertrucks set on fire. Bomb threats at Tesla showrooms. Vandalism at charging stations. A wave of violent protests targeting Tesla facilities has erupted across the country in recent weeks over Elon Musk’s controversial role within the Trump Administration, with demonstrators looking to bankrupt the company and ultimately force Musk out of his government position. On Saturday, March 29, the anti-Musk movement is preparing for what could be its largest mobilization yet. The decentralized group Tesla Takedown has called for peaceful protests targeting more than 500 locations worldwide in what organizers describe as a stand against its billionaire CEO’s involvement with...

It’s been almost four years since U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy cast the political dice and diverted from Republican group think. He dared to endorse the impeachment of then-recently replaced President Donald Trump for his incitement of the Jan. 6 insurrectionist attack on the Capitol. “Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty,” Cassidy said at the time. Now Louisiana’s senior senator finds himself an unfavored incumbent, although a well-funded one, among hardcore GOP types ahead of his 2026 reelection bid. Despite an otherwise consistent track record...

The Israeli government’s decision to dismiss Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar against the warnings of its attorney general arguably marks the most dangerous inflection point yet in Israel’s long-simmering constitutional crisis. On Sunday the Israeli government unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara herself, a first step toward dismissing her. The Supreme Court, which last year struck down a constitutional amendment to overhaul the Israeli judicial system, has now intervened to block Bar’s dismissal—a ruling the government says it intends to defy. So the question is no longer whether Israel has a judicial problem. The...

“This town is now as nervous as it’s ever been.” That’s Congressman Chip Roy’s assessment of the mood in Washington, D.C., since President Trump’s return to the White House. It’s one of several dozen refreshingly blunt descriptions of American politics in Ned Ryun’s new documentary based on his book, American Leviathan. The documentary is available to anyone with an Internet connection, and it is nothing short of a declaration of war on the administrative state. I highlighted Ryun’s book when it came out last September for several reasons. First, it is a remarkably clear description of the ideas, people, and...

Steven Witkoff, the Trump administration’s official envoy who had past business ties to Qatar, sat down with Tucker Carlson, the former FOX News talking head turned Qatari apologist who had recently featured Qatar’s leader, to talk about how wonderful Qatar is... Qatar is not a mediator. It’s a state sponsor of Hamas and other Islamic terrorist groups. By collaborating with Qatar, Witkoff is by definition collaborating with Hamas.
