Steven Witkoff, the Trump administration’s official envoy who had past business ties to Qatar, sat down with Tucker Carlson, the former FOX News talking head turned Qatari apologist who had recently featured Qatar’s leader, to talk about how wonderful Qatar is... Qatar is not a mediator. It’s a state sponsor of Hamas and other Islamic terrorist groups. By collaborating with Qatar, Witkoff is by definition collaborating with Hamas.

The region hasn’t been especially kind to the US or its presidents. Washington insiders seem oblivious to the fact that many of the relentless Mideast problems stem from intractable ancient hatreds that are not going to be solved anytime soon or in the foreseeable future.
The Washington foreign policy establishment has an ingrained belief in its own brilliance and a willingness to succumb to hubris about the extent of its power and influence.
The only Middle East game seems to be a tried and true formula to get foreign aid tax dollars by uttering the word “peace” at regular intervals.
“Peace” in the Middle East has been a pipe dream for about a thousand years........there’s a huge price tag on “peace,” with the US taxpayer gamely trying to meet the latest “peace price.”
The al-Thani, Qatar’s ruling family, has offered a home and support for the hateful Muslim Brotherhood for more than a half century. It has maintained an especial rapport with the Clintons, the Brookings instituion, the Olympic Committees, and, for decades, the US Pentagon which still maintains a base there. And now even Trump plays footsies with the bums.
Trump should secure the Qatari base via force after calling a world wide meeting of jihadis, including Iran, and bomb them straight to their 72 Virgins.Shortly thereafter Qatar would become a US protectorate.
