The afternoon started with the arrival a small but determined group from the Walter Reed victory on the Friday night. The group contained Apple Blossom, Lurker Bill, Concretebob, Doctor Raoul, Lurker Joan, gate2wire, Lurker George and his wife Ethel, and bmwcyle. We had a visit by a Vietnam Veteran, who stood on the grassy knoll above the peace-niks. He told them that signs similar to the ones their hands help to kill over 50,000 of his brothers in arms. I just received a phone call from Kristinn!! The DC Chapter of Protest Warriors obtained a permit for Code Pink’s side of the street today after the Pinko’s forgot to renew their permit. The blood dancers tried to stick it out for about 20-25 minutes before they tucked tail and retreated a block away to the closed entrance. Freepers and Protest Warriors now have all four corners outside the main entrance to WRAMC!

On Friday the 13th, the Pinkos had an unlucky night. We had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond. <p>On Jan 6, the first FReep of the new year, we had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond. It was too cold and windy to deploy the MOAB, Mother-of-all-Banners. This was FReep #38 as FReepers have countered the anti-troop hate group Code Pink at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 10 months now. Code Pink was videotaped stealing one of the FReepers' signs and then caught red-handed (pink-handed?) after lying straight-faced to a police officer.  This happened after a stunning and brilliant tactic devised by kristinn. We were honored to be joined by the father and brother of Joshua Sparling, the war-wounded Walter Reed patient, who had received left-wing hate mail wishing for his death (see the multiple threads here). We were also honored to welcome a FReeper and his wife from Texas and her father from Italy.</p>

<p>A sign posted tonight at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. by the parents of a U.S. Marine asking antiwar protesters to not protest at the hospital was taken down and stolen by members of Code Pink and Kevin McCarron, of Veterans for Peace.</p>

An officer with Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) ordered the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic to silence our voices tonight at our weekly support the troops demonstration outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center.The officer cited complaints from the neighborhood about the noise our voices make as we chastise the so-called antiwar protesters across the street at the main gate to Walter Reed.The officer went across the street and issued the same order to the Code Pinkos.
